Nope. That would be the post where you said you are unvaccinated. We really should get back to audio stuff. Between this thread and the COVID vaccine thread, this place is becoming a shit show. I had covid the first week of January 2021 before I was eligible for a vaccine where I live. I’m no more of a threat to you or anyone else than a vaxxed person. Science agrees with me. Incorrect. The science says that your antibodies are long gone. ****I was incorrect about this. The latest data indicates that antibodies from infection last between 3 months and up to 5 year.

For those of you who want a true free market, libertarian, government hands-off approach to the COVID situation, be careful what you wish for. A true free market would likely result in hospitals and insurance companies refusing treatment and coverage for the unvaccinated. A position I would wholeheartedly endorse. The most recent numbers I've seen showed that somewhere between 80 and 90% of the hospitalized COVID patients in the US are unvaccinated. Health care workers are tired of treating self-inflicted wounds and we're all having to deal with restrictions on our freedoms due to the unvaccinated. I'm tired of it, and all of the arm-chair wanna be experts aren't helping the situation. Come on dude…out of all the crazy shit that’s been said here this takes the cake! Nope. That would be the post where you said you are unvaccinated. We really should get back to audio stuff. Between this thread and the COVID vaccine thread, this place is becoming a shit show.

Trace Audio and Resistance Audio are both companies that will build CAPI racks for you if they have them in stock.

Some senators are already trying, but it's being labeled as an anti-science witch-hunt by the usual suspects and the safe bet is that it'll go nowhere because the status-quo citizen doesn't want to know that their government is at fault because an egomaniacal politician was left unchecked to wreck the world. You show your bias and lose all sense of objectivity/credibility with this last sentence.

I certainly agree that no man is above the law. My understanding is that what constitutes gain-of-function is the subject of some dispute and not all of it is illegal or unethical. Some of it is necessary and quite beneficial. So far, the source of much of your post is a far-right libertarian conspiracy website. I will certainly be looking for any such stories in reputable publications. The Washington Post has done a pretty good job of following this story, setting forth the nuances of the issues. I'm sure it will put out a follow-up story on this shortly.

The burning desire to demonize Fauci is misplaced. This is nothing more than shooting the messenger when we don’t like the difficult message.

Mine really only gets used on kick, but I don't record a bass amp. If I did, it would likely get used there as well.

I have plenty of outboard pres and as a matter of convenience have been using ITB EQs. Hope to change that next year with the addition of some CAPI EQs. The EQ on the board is somewhat limited, but functional. Consoles are like everything, there is always something better until you get to Neve/API level. My needs were pretty simple. I wanted to be able to insert my outboard without having to mess with this ITB, and mix and monitor with faders.

I'm not doing anything particularly fancy with my CADAC Live1, but it has been reliable and doesn't get in the way, while providing everything I need. I don't use the onboard pres and rarely use the EQ. I also don't track full bands. I'm also not using the channel direct outs, so I can't help you much there. When I bought mine, there was a distributor in New York, but it sounds like that may no longer be the case.

If you decide to move to Logic, you should definitely check out MusicTechHelpGuy's YouTube tutorials. When I made the move back in 2013, I watched all of those and made meticulous notes, which I still refer to on occasion.

I'm running ATC SCM20ASLs, with a recently added pair of SVS sb-3000 subs. Very happy. My prior sub, a Rythmik F25, did not seem to match as well.

Love my SM7b. Contrary to some others, it works far better than RE20s and M88s on my voice.

I usually track my lead vocal with an LA2A, but it always ends up getting an 1176 in the mix.

For Juno 106, Cherry Audio is the way to go. Over the Softube? Haven’t had an opportunity to try the Softube.

Well--you have what I REPLACED Altiverb7 with. So....obviously YMMV. But, I don't remember the last time I put reverb on drums. You either have a large room or like dry drums.

I had the KAT4 for several years. The 67M is incredible and the 251 was outstanding. The other two heads didn’t see much use. Service was a nightmare, but that was before I moved to Nashville and met Dave Wheeler.

It's very hard to limit it to three. The first one is easy, The Beatles. The second two could be any combination of Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Deep Purple.

If you're not recording drums and you're mixing in the box, you can keep it simple. You could get away with a 2 channel unit for that. Things get more complicated, and arguably more fun when you start recording drums, incorporating outboard and mixing outside of the box. If and when you decide to do that, you'll know you need more channels. Until then, don't sweat it.
