How’s the plate? I’m a sucker for a good plate verb.

That price seems a little too good to be true. If it’s real, these should be gone.

After looking for one for nearly a year, I found a Trek II UC-1A preamp, which allows guitars and other instruments to run through my Leslie 147. The thing sounds amazing. one like this? trekii.com/uc-1a-pedal-110v.html Did you buy it new or used? Yes that’s the one. Local Hammond guru, Murph Wanca, had a refurbished unit that he was able to sell to me. Trek II has just started producing new units again, but are going to be filling back orders for quite some time.

Yes, the mount is a major pain in the ass, but seems to have gotten easier in the year plus I have had mine. I love the depth/reach of these mics. They are far and away my favorite overhead mics. They do a better job of representing the entire kit than anything else I’ve used.

With the recent Neumann reissues, I wonder if we will ever see a reissue of the 87i.

Wow! I didn’t realize there was that much damage on that side of the state. Hope they recover quickly.

It looks like the AMLs haven't been available for a few years. Hopefully, he will start making them again.

I hated learning this last night. My Prophet 5 Rev 4 has been extremely inspirational.

Dave moved to NC to work with Heiserman. And him doing that for people was several years ago and just out of him trying to help people out. Unfortunately, I think any hope of people getting mics back are long gone. I didn't realize Dave had moved. That's too bad for Nashville, but good for Heiserman. There aren't nearly enough good techs around. I wonder who is taking care of all of Blackbird's mics these days.

I've been eyeing the Looptrotter console for awhile, but can't find much (any) info about what's on the inside. I'd love to hear more.

I still use Decapitator quite a bit, but lately I've been using PSP Saturator more often. It can be a bit more subtle than Decapitator.

Good post, Seawell. This death hit me harder than many musician's deaths have. I recently read Dave Grohl's autobiography, which is a spectacular read. After reading the book, you feel as though you really know Dave and Taylor. Great guys. Very sorry Taylor is gone.

The fact is that we do not have a complete picture of what killed him, and as best as I can tell, none of us are doctors. Right now, we're just speculating based on a ton of misinformation. For example, it appears that he had a significantly enlarged heart (some reports say he was aware of it and had sought treatment). Myocarditis and pericarditis are infections that can cause heart inflammation, but that's not the same thing as having an enlarged heart, a condition called cardiomegaly. Neither myocarditis nor pericarditis are hereditary. Let's wait for people who know what they are talking about to finish the analysis.

I'm a bit amazed at all the criticism of a studio that most, if not all of us, would love to have. Would I want some additional gear that isn't Warm? Yes. But I'd kill to have that kind of space.

Last year, I added a pair of SVS SB3000s to go with my ATC SCM20s. One of the best decisions I have ever made. I previously had one large Rhythmik Audio sub. Using two smaller subs, placed under each main has made a huge difference. For the first time, the low end is clear and intelligible. My room also is not particularly large. There's some science behind using two subs that those smarter than I am can explain. I just know that in my situation the difference is dramatic.

Yes, I’m certainly not implying that anything I do in my day job has led me to believe that any of my thoughts on this as expressed above are those of clients or are in any way eminent. My point was that under a true free market system, which does not exist, market forces would attempt to correct the behavior of the unvaccinated. I think there is zero chance hospitals will or could deny coverage to the unvaccinated. However, I think down the road we could see health insurance companies attempt to exclude coverage for the unvaccinated. Hopefully, folks will get the vaccine and it won’t come to that.

I was just going to amend my prior post. Apparently, the data is now showing immunity from infection can last anywhere from 3 months to 5 years (not sure how they can determine the longer timeframe). Obviously, if your blood work says you have antibodies, you have antibodies. Every expert I've seen discuss this, however, suggests that people in your situation get the vaccine. The combination of the vaccine and prior infection creates a very strong immunity.
