Just for fun while I wait for the annual end of year RGO tech awards someday , what was your favorite piece of Hardware/Software you picked up in 2021?
Mine was a Martinsound Martech MSS-10 Preamp for hardware / and the Kit Plugin Blackbird N105 Channel Strip for software

Kinda quiet 2021 for me unless I am really forgetting something. So, I guess the vibro champ reissue is it.

Well it was mid dec 2020...but im gonna count it HVA EQ-6S. Love that thing. Only other hardware I got was a DIYRE Colour Duo, which is always super cool. I bought SoundToys5 Bundle last year and its been great, as has Inflator.

Lawson L47 (original) - despite its kind of gaudy (gold) appearance, it sure sounds sweet! My first big boy tube mic! Of course I bought a few more after but it’s still my fave.

Small but fun - Redco Custom 1/4" Speaker cable with 1/4" male on one end and a 1/4" female on the other end to use my Fender Princeton with it's F-cap speaker jack as an external cab for my Princeton Reverb, or disconnect the internal speaker and swap it over to the Princeton.
Sometimes it's the little things.

My favorite thing I used in 2021 was a 15W Supro amp. I haven't bought it yet, but plan to trade a friend for it soon.

Rupert Neve Designs 5424 for hardware.
I haven't bought software of any sort in quite a while. That comes this year.

Man, I'm seriously considering one of these. Pops into my head daily. What did it replace, if anything?

Hardware: ATC SCM45A's. Quite an experience. I can reach out and grab things in the stereo field. The overall sound is...well, excellent, but I'm struck by the imaging...depth-wise, too.
Software: FabFilter Pro Q3 has been real nice.

2021 purchases : Love the Upton 251 more so then the Heisermann h47t. Getting to know the AS Vcomp a lot better and liking it . Want to get to like the Vintech x73 but its still sitting in the box yet to make the rack for full time duties. Need more time with this one. software - first time i bought no new software for the year. If i cant get time to test the new hardware it isn’t right for me to buy new software.

Hardware - the FiiO BTR5 battery operated Bluetooth DAC. Combined with Apple lossless streaming starting in June, it's changed my daily listening reference.
Software - my first Softube purchase ever in Summit Grand Channel, which I upgraded to Volume 5. That added a lot of AAX DSP options for use with Carbon and quickly became my most used collection.

Hardware - probably the Stam SA-23A+
Software - probably the KIT Blackbird Neve EQ. Or Reverberate 3 (wait, when did that come out?)

Yeah the Upton sounded great on your vocals. I remember the voicing of the 47s just sounded strange in that shootout, the 251 mics were much more flattering. I went back and listened and I find the Soyuz actually had a nice vibe to it, a Neumannish mid push without it being overbearing! Btw what components are in the Signal Arts 47 you're selling?

Hardware: Coil CA70 and 286s. No Brainer here. I love these so much
Software: Kit N105 just because, well, I think it's the only plugin I got in 2021!

Flickinger TwinFlicks. Excellent value, excellent vibe. [br Nice, where would place it sonically in relationship to say: neve, api, trident, ssl? It’s not clean and detailed like Hardy or Grace?

I’d say 2 HW: Aurora N and my Daking pre, both are all about great sound.

Oh, I think the game changing software in 2021 for me is the Fuse VQP bundle. The 258A passive eq is idiot proof and provides instant guitar separation. Add 2db to lows and highs on one, subtract 2db on the other and presto. …. doubled guitars no longer sound like mush. You can clearly distinguish them. Fuse, Tokyo Dawn, and the Best Service Halls of Fame IR reverb suite have totally changed my life.
