I've had this experience before too. I think, though, it may be a bit psychological. You are listening to the old stuff with fresh ears. The stuff you've mixed recently you've listen to until you're sick of it and you hear every wart. If you went back and listened to both projects a year from now, I'll bet you'd find that you had improved over time.

Interesting. Is this a problem with new Gefells or just vintage ones?

It sounds pretty good, but I find the key click on the demo to be a bit fake sounding and distracting. I would assume that this effect is adjustable though.

I spent a long time learning Landslide when I first began playing the guitar. It's a really unique way of playing. Love Lindsey Buckingham. I saw Fleetwood Mac two years ago when they came to KC, and I was astounded as to how energetic he is on stage. He looks like he keeps in very good shape.

I just set my buffer at 64 in Logic and don't seem to have any problems with latency. Are there settings in Maestro that effect latency? Maybe I need to dive into the manual on this.

Maybe I've been lucky. I've used a Symphony Mark I for the last few years and never even open Maestro. Everything just seems to work so long as the Symphony is selected as the input and output device in Logic.

Thanks. I look forward to using it more. Do you find Console4 to be pretty subtle? Maybe it's another one that I need to listen to some more.

I scored a second KM84, a Serpent SB4001, two CAPI 312s and 6 VP28s. Now it's time to record some stuff. Where'd you get the km84? I've been thinking about getting one again. I bit the bullet and paid the VK premium. I bought my first one from them two years ago and have been very happy with it. I guess I'm willing to pay a bit more for one that I know has been properly serviced.

I downloaded Not Just Another Dither along with his other free plugs last night and made a donation. I placed it on the output of a couple of tracks headed out to my console and can't say that I could hear a difference, but maybe as the tracks compile it will be more noticeable. I also couldn't hear any difference when I added the console plugin to the chain. I thought that was strange.

Cool. After reading Bob O's recent post on dither I've been thinking that I could use a good basic dither plug.

Anything with a nice proximity effect will get you there. On the cheaper end, the ev re20 is pretty killer for that larger than life effect. I like RE20s, but they are known for their lack of proximity effect. For dynamics that have a nice proximity effect, I prefer the SM7b.

Mine is actually an A102 with Leslie 147. The A100 series is the same guts as a B3 with a different cabinet and built in tone cabinet.

I've finally joined the 500 series club. I picked up a BAE 11 spacer and have a Serpent SB4001 arriving next week. Six CAPI VP28s and 2 VP312s will be arriving shortly after that. I'm excited!

So how does it compare to Ravenscroft? So far I am really liking it.

I've been on a bit of a piano VST kick lately. I've owned Ivory II for years, but picked up Pianoteq 5 Pro with the holiday sale and then picked up Ravenscroft on sale last night. I was really torn between the Ravenscroft and Hammersmith. So many choices. They are getting better, but I still long for the day when I have the coin and room for a real piano.

If anyone would like the Hammond and backing vocals, send me a message with your email and I will email them to you with Wetransfer. Thanks.

I've had good luck with my two Redco DB25 TT bays and they cost half as much as the Switchcraft.
