I was thinking about it. Then when compared to the SB4001, the 4001 just has too many great options that the more traditional Stam doesn't for just a few hundred more. Will get another 4001 instead.

I wonder if there will be an mkII like there was for the sa2a... maybe this time with some of the typical mods. I'd be much more interested in that version....

4001 looks awesome - but the prices over here perhaps are skewed in comparison Interesting how expectations change though. I bet if, 10 years or so ago, someone told you that it was possible to buy a boutique piece of hardware that effectively performed as well as an industry standard that had been used on countless hit records, for less than a weeks wages no one would have believed it possible. These are good times despite everything.

I just picked up a SB4001. Haven't used it a ton yet, but so far, I like it.

I had both and both are good. Kept the SB4001 as it was more flexible.

received mine earlier this week. so far mixed one piece through it and added it to something I thought was finished. great results. not sure if I would want much more options than what's happening with it. my thought is I can set it and forget it as far mix bus goes. only adjusting to keep the GR minimal.
printing drums is another story though.
what are some of the flexible options I am missing? genuinely curious here. thanks.

Internal side chain with multiple freq.'s and Blend of dry/wet signal for those of us doing a hybrid setup are the mains for me, but also additional ratio's, attack and release values, etc.

I got a SB4001 right before christmas and it is really nice and very versatile. It has to be one of the best values out there for what you get.
