adding in the hedd monitor to this conversation - what's the big difference here in these ribbon tweeters and the typical domes? I've heard the A7X is great, but really different from normal monitors.

So I was going to post in Svart's but I didn't want to detract from that investment size. There are some good % off deals happening this week, so I'm intrigued.
I've been comparing the adam a7x's, alpha 80, and wanted to get some info from you wonderful people, about what you'd do in this range. I'm embarrassed with the speakers I have been using for almost 20 years, as they were an early purchase that wasn't much. There is much room to grow from these "Truth" telling monitors..
I expect those Neumann 5.25" speakers aren't going to give enough low end, and I'd love to get the KH310, but i can't blow 5k.. am I asking too much for good speakers at the 1500 ish level?

i've been praised for mixes from more people when i leave room for the other instruments in a mix and individually hpf/lpf to keep instruments about in these ranges. they aren't all the same, but if there's nothing there, there's nothing there.

Sa47 and wa47 are great mics at great prices, real deal is 14k. I mean that's literally why. Wrong. I was referring to the C37a. Those tend to sell in the 3k range. I bought the Manley Silver. Got tired of waiting for the tonelux. And at that price point it makes sense to buy something new with a warranty. EveAnna makes stellar gear. Can’t imagine anyone not liking the silver. Unless, of course you don’t like darker, smooth sounding mics. Which is what I was going for. I wasn't wrong, Stam doesn't make a c37a clone, per my reference of the u47. The c800 is 9k, same principal. It's looking like c37s go for 4000, tonelux is half that. Still valid.

I've got a Banjitar - do they make "good" ones? I should pull mine out - i don't even know how to tune the banjo part of it. I guess I'm about to go down a Youtube rabbit hole...
Mine's from SX, and has a great feeling (I know, right?) neck like an SG, and it sounds like a banjo! Sweet star inlays too. A guy I know around here on the east coast, he put a little piezo on it and does some cool stuff with it.

Seems to be the going rate. They aren’t as easy to come by these days. I’m in the market for a great vocal mic. I’ve looked at those Stams which I discovered from this site, but positive reviews are so inconsistent. You don’t know what to believe anymore when it comes to new “clones.” Why not buy the real deal. Sa47 and wa47 are great mics at great prices, real deal is 14k. I mean that's literally why.

Has she been dealing with slowness and freezing? That's usually symptoms of an SSD dying. are we looking at pc or apple? that may be where my help may end, but a boot sector sometimes gets erased and needs to be re-written. using a 3rd party "OS on a usb stick" to load and then analyze the drive may give you the best options. I know this works on a pc - www.ultimatebootcd.com/

I'd like to buy Larry Crane a beer one day. He's like the Charles Osgood from the Sunday Morning News show of the Recording Industry for me.

My first complaint I had checked was with the DI on the unit. I had to crank it to use it, and it had a lot of "air" involved. It was checked out and it's just supposed to be like that. If you take off the mod so that it was louder, there is a ton of noise, so the circuit was back to stock there. That missing yellow capacitor on the right in the pictures is the fix for the DI noise from what i'm told. It all depends on how you plan to use the DI, I'll probably use my RNDI and send it through the mic input for almost everything anyway. Loving the unit that way.

Good deal on dbx 500 series. Anybody use this? Are there alternate ways that give the same ease of use? Clicky bass and huge bottom, no mud?

I got my unit back from Stams guy Jeff and ran a vocal through it. Between that and the SA47 I've never had so much fun re-singing a whole song. I deleted all other takes I did. The vocal takes sat easily in the mix, and played great with the 76/2A chain. I'm really happy now. That is wonderful news My apologies for the troubles Josh This is the true cost of the discount, in my opinion. We are opting to be the first in the world to have a new device, with that comes a cost of patience and being empirical QA for the company. We save a little, but it's our duty to be patient and provide valuable feedback for further operational efficiency. There are very few products in the world that come out with version 1, and are the "perfect" device. If that weren't true, there would be no innovation within a marketplace. Josh, I appreciate your timely response in getting down to the best available solutions with your customers when there is something to be done about it. Feel free to send me any other products you'd like me to QA

The Cowbell sketch has been both a curse and a blessing. And yeah, it's still funny. About 80% Christopher Walken, IMO. "Bruce Dickenson" wasn't the original producer, but the guy at SONY Legacy that does our re-issues. He enjoys his fame post-skit. The truth behind the skit! I've been waiting for this moment... lol

I mounted two 24s to walls with long moving arms. I can set up a keyboard and bring one monitor directly in front for a VI plugin, and then work directly from that without bending a neck. does that guy still sell the pro tools plugin that lets you split it to two monitors still? I think I may actually buy that now - dedicate one to mix screen, one to tracking

Sounds to me they got out of using the word "Everything" - so they can start charging for some stuff separately again... It's still a damn good deal if you're using his stuff.

audioscape -- VComp has still not left the bass track. I'm 20 songs into a 30 song project of delta bluesy stuff. For size, it wins every time. When I need size and aggression, I'm following it with a Splice in bluestripe (A) mode hitting very hard, and about 60% wet. Killer. I'm sure an audioscape blue stripe would be killer too. Great tools. That's AMAZING Bill, I'm glad you're getting so much use out of the V and loving it as much as we do!! YES! You need to check out our 76A when we have them back in stock. A delay with our case supplier has made their return take a bittt longer than anticipated. SOON! Thanks again man, love your updates I have sold gear in preparation for the availability!

<eyebrow raised> so something will be changing with the Everything Bundle, I presume. Whether with the price or with some added perk, perhaps? Who knows. Ah ha, I see what he did there... as a guy without any bundle, I totally missed that.
