Valves and U47s will do that to you John; an analogue tape machine and you'd be up to your armpits in the '50s and 60's. Very lovely dan and I loved your allusion to "easy' eqpt. It's outside my funds range but it's a great piece. Cheers, Ross

Everything sounds so damn good Dan; it'd almost paralyse me in indecision. One thing - I would like to hear it in and out of circuit with no eq. Cheers, Ross

Chris, can I warn you against cans that are comprised of hard plastic in the swivel area (AT 30) . I have just broken AT 40s , Shure 240 and Shure 840 by dropping on the floor and Im well over it; looking for something "robustly flexible" Cheers, Ross

Amphion one 15's and amp here ; after the continued rave reviews I bought on reputation as I live over a K miles from any outlet. Was looking for a mixing speaker but couldn't get past the broad band low mid sound of the box. Tried different rooms / outside , different conversion etc etc etc cause it had to be me right? Nope, after several months ended up selling back to the importer losing a couple of grand, Cheers, Ross

The thing about the 441 line is they will do anything well from Vocals to H/H to Kick - that's a serious range right there. Cheers, Ross

John if the tweeters are too high try them upside down and also the ledges above the racks would be reflective which may be obviated with thin acoustic foam laid on them. Cheers, Ross

Was about to say that it should cut without a hitch and that the blade sounds f****d up. Are the Amphions at true ear level (the tweeter looks a little high?) Otherwise all looks good Cheers, Ross

One more thing Ben, there's an $1800 - ish difference in price between the BM 49 and the Tribute 4 yet they are described in similar terms ; the difference between them isn't clear to me on VK's web site.

Ben , (Mics) if you're reading , Ive just read the VK spiel on your 87i which on the one hand says it's a multi pattern condenser and the on the other hand further down the page it says you decided to make it cardioid only.... and then on the specs page it only lists it as being omni. I reckon you need to clarify that asap.
Also in one paragraph you are writing "our" and then in the next you are talking in the 3rd person with "they" - again, IMO serious proof reading would be beneficial to your sales potential.
On the plus side the new logo is a significant pro step. ( although there are photos of your 49 tribute with the old logo which isn't great IMO)
Please accept these criticisms as a way to help Ben , not to be destructive,
Cheers, Ross

Eric makes some good points as to how tough being a retailer can be. To his point about trying then buying elsewhere - My daughter worked in the top local sports store and a woman came in to try on a pricey shoe - (Asics Kayano) After making sure of a good fit which involved at least 10 - 15 mins of my daughters (the shop's) time and walking around the store etc, the "customer" glibly says 'Great , now I ve got hat sorted I can buy them on line" and walked out. At least in this case the shop could re-pack and sell the product as new stock. It can be a tough world and tougher when electronics and transport are involved.

FWIW and no offence meant to ShadowK but I have Beyer 700 Pro x and I can't agree with his summation of their abilities - to me they've ended up being "fun" listens but realistically the bass is out of whack (their major drawback). I would trust the much cheaper AT M40 (not 50) before the Beyers. My final advice is, don't listen to me but listen for yourself first. - shows how we all hear differently I think. Cheers, Ross
