Sounds very cool! Clean but not sterile. Balanced. Fits the music very nicely
The overall vibe of the recording reminds me of the sounds I got with the Tree Branch I used to own.

Howdy, friends. My Professor Dan Vacuum Tube Microphone Preamplifier and EQ will be available for purchase soon. It can be used as a two-channel preamp/EQ, or as a line-level master bus sweetener. Tonally, it could be described as hi-fi. Simply passing signal through it with the EQ settings at "0" results in more clarity and dimension to a mix. And it still has the subtle second harmonic tube saturation to fatten things up and make it sound punchy. Also, it is not a clone of anything. It is its own combination of topologies carefully selected for how I like things to sound. The gain staging has a sophisticated circuit designed to give maximum headroom and super low noise with the help of an external power supply. I'll be posting plenty of audio samples and videos in the days ahead! Here is a recorded sample to get things started: "Lost Highway" Professor Dan Tube PreampView AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentPrice will be $3,500. Once you get a real mic, that’s gonna sound pretty good. I keed, I keed…that sounds freaking awesome. I’ve been drooling over one of these since you first started talking about it.

That even would be "all-righty"... With Lefty. Thanks again for all the wonderful performances, including the youngsters sometimes featured. Oh yeah. Yours too! Chris

Thanks, all, for the kind words. Here is a video demonstrating the unit on a stereo mix. Also, anyone who wants to pre-order can do so here: professordanaudio.com/pro-audioI have a limited run of 8 units available at this time. They shouldn't last long.

Everything sounds so damn good Dan; it'd almost paralyse me in indecision. One thing - I would like to hear it in and out of circuit with no eq. Cheers, Ross

Okay. Here are two samples: 1. Original file 2. Original file running through the EQ, but flat 2024, 04, 05, Professor Dan EQ SamplesThis is at pert near mastered volume. Peaks around -1 dB to -0.7 dB. In other words, it's pushing the gear. Curious to know everyone's thoughts.

Valves and U47s will do that to you John; an analogue tape machine and you'd be up to your armpits in the '50s and 60's. Very lovely dan and I loved your allusion to "easy' eqpt. It's outside my funds range but it's a great piece. Cheers, Ross
