it's amazing. you should try "magic reverb" too, particularly if you are fan of iconic chambers.
I have a hardware death eye and I track vocals with it but I'm happy to use the plug anywhere anytime and it works well. nice tone and good compression action.

quantum evolution got me fully ITB. it sounds nothing like the bricasti, but it can do the job of the bricasti in my workflow, and it's really versatile. I can use it as the only reverb pretty easily, generally 3 or 4 instances, but I also occasionally reach for eventide 2016, DDMF magic reverb and a few things in oxford reverb I like very well for specific uses.

I really miss mine. I still own it but haven’t used it in 3 years and a few months ago I dropped it off at my e so he could hook it up to his fancy new Neve desk.
I don’t really like the IRs and cannot really articulate why, but our business has gotten that I need full mobile recall so even though there’s front end hardware in our studio for tracking, once we get it down it stays ITB. I use quantum evolution now in its place and it sounds way different but it’s the first itb reverb I’ve found that can give me what I’m trying to accomplish, it just goes about it in a different way. I’m really happy with quantum but I still wish I had 2 real bricastis inside my laptop. Or 4 lol.

Magic death eye if you can find one. Every time I track vocals I am reminded how much I would miss it.

It really depends on what the sax is doing in the tune and how you want it presented. You don’t need a new mic, either of those you mentioned will offer a great and familiar recorded sound. But they’ll be a different type of presentation from each other and you have to pick which you want. If I had your two choices I’d instinctively grab the 67 first. Then again, I just had a tenor track sent to me the other day, he went to a real room to do it and they tracked him with both an M149 and an AEA KU5. On first listen I preferred the Neumann but in this particular contemporary bossa nova thing I heavily preferred the AEA and used just that track. They both sounded like the player!

If I were you I’d either get a second U87 or a pair of tlm107s. The 107s can be found used around $1k US.

Sound devices usbpre2. My wife has one on her desktop with a u87 and a pair of headphones and she does a lot of finished vocals there. With an M1 Mac she can monitor pro tools no problem. It’s a super versatile problem solver box and its super plug and play on a pro tools Mac. We use prism HDX in studio with a mytek cue system and she doesn’t seem to care about any difference in experience.

I’m a huge fan of the e22s and we have a few but if you’re looking for drum mics specifically the beyerdynamic clip on drum mics are terrific.

I use a sound devices USBpre2 for portable work all the time for years now. It works fabulously, seamlessly and sounds terrific.
I like the mix pre series a lot and have both a 3 and a 10 for different uses, and do and have used them with the daw but they’re a little more finicky to setup as you have to do sample rate on the unit in the project and also setup your I/o on the unit depending on your session. And while the A/D is excellent and the d/a fine, the usbpre2 is literally plug-in and play and the d/a is spectacular.
