Finally got around to demoing this...and damn, I gotta buy now. Big, thick and actually compresses lol. The attack sounds right to me on this and it definitely adds weight.
Well...it's now crashed on me twice. That's a bummer.

Did you demo the mono or stereo one?

both. Thought they were both killer. Not sure I wanna spend money on a mono and stereo version, though.

It's good until Dan says otherwise !
Edit : Damn, a few seconds too late.

Love both of these plugs and I am not having any problems. They update these often as well.

I like this plug. It's one of the first calls when I run out of hardware.

I have the mono version. Every time I test it on busses, I like it a lot.

I’ve got both versions, and I use both a lot. They’re among the first I reach for if using a plugin for compression. Johnkenn they do sales around the holidays, and prob something this summer, too. I got them both a couple years ago at Christmas.

Both versions are really great sounding plugs.

I didn't know about this either. Don't need another DSP comp but when has that ever stopped me from sniffing around.

Been preaching that plugin around since I got it a few year ago. Use the stereo one all the time and mono too.
They are different units all together with different features. Technically with the plugins, you can use the mono as a stereo and vise versa. It's just how the hardware is different.
The Stereo has an EQ circuit that is inside the compression circuit itself, not before or after, which is pretty cool. Stereo also over samples. Has optional mid and side on eq points.
Would definitely check the manual for the hidden features.
I've been running it for years and on macs i've found the oversampling can causes some cpu overloads but you just cycle it and it clears it.
Great plugins. Wish I could afford the hardware.

I haven’t tried this plugin.
What’s its forte?

Yeah this is definitely one of my most used as well. Got both versions and love the stereo for busses. This one and TDR stuff get the most use for me. I haven't had it crash yet, got em about 3 years ago I think?

Love both of these plugs and I am not having any problems. They update these often as well. Same here. Funny this thread comes up as I brought up a 2019 mix last week and it had them all over. Got me using them again. And don't forget to click on the diamond logo on the left for hot rod mode.

it's amazing. you should try "magic reverb" too, particularly if you are fan of iconic chambers.
I have a hardware death eye and I track vocals with it but I'm happy to use the plug anywhere anytime and it works well. nice tone and good compression action.

Just so I don’t have to read the manual, I assume the time constants are similar to a Fairchild?

£200 for both.
Expensive .... in relative terms for plugins in 2024.
Still, cheaper than hardware!
