I'm not convinced this is necessary. Unless they NAILED that compressor...

In my experience the all ITB mix guys just tell us 50% of the story. Most of the time the files they mix have seen hardware in tracking, This makes a big difference when mixing ITB. Try the same with files which just have seen the preamp and you will have a hard time to get a three dimensional mix ITB. what about miles davis' kind of blue.
just mics and preamps.
and tape. That's also jazz so apples to oranges with rock/pop mixing.

I read in a tape op once larry said that elliott smith made his first 3 records with gear that most of us would laugh at then throw away. Shows to go ya. if my recordings sound like puppy puke the only fault is my own.

FWIW 87 capsules are still in production as have been 67. Unlike AKG/Harman, they didn't cheapen them. Sennheiser has done a fine job of replacing Neumann capsules for many of us. As far as I know, a U-67 shouldn't have a higher output than a 269. Sounds like a different impedance strap or the output pad may still be in the 269's power supply. hmmm I wonder how I figure that out?

Sounds great. Obviously. It's essentially interchangeable with my m269c that was reskinned by shannon. the 67 is 6db hotter with a touch more clarity when level matched. You think Shannon could have a look at my 38 year old U87? or should I call Klaus? thnx Off topic, but I'll leave it of course shannon could. From what I've gathered there is a substantial price difference between them. I can't vouch for klaus personally, although I have wondered myself what he could do to my pair of 87's. I estimate for him to touch them it would be as much as buying a third 87. They resell for much more as well though. Tough call. Good luck!

I like the gold comps. Haven't gotten into the pink comp yet. The pearl comp is useless however. Where do you get the latest updates on these? No telling which version I have. right. so you use the installer program aquarious now for everything. they updated most plugs to use core 12 since it's release. you open aquarious and re download your plug from there. it will be the latest release by default. this will overwrite your current version. there is also an update tab but i found that i have to just re download the plugs i want to update for it to work.

You tried the comps? I haven’t really been able to get much useful out of the Gold comps...but the eqs are like hw. I like the gold comps. Haven't gotten into the pink comp yet. The pearl comp is useless however.

Roger's stuff is aerospace level built and sounds amazing on program...... The P4S ME in particular is a beast! (I consulted with Roger on the development of that box) what do you love about your p4s specifically?

I'm not jumping. I don't even listen to my 2,000 deep collection enough as it is. My neighbor gave me a nitty gritty vinyl cleaning machine that works pretty darn well. That has spurned more listening than anything else. I love cleaning a record before listening. It takes 30 seconds and sounds significantly better without the dust.

I think it's brand new. Not likely to be much info out there yet. If I was looking for a 2RU 1176, I'd definitely consider it. But I just bought my third and fourth 500 series 1176 Splices. I'd like to see the pics of your setup man. I think you have as much outboard as everyone on this forum combined.

Really... I'm not in the habit of paying attention to video goings on. Makes me wonder what happened.
I wish there was a way to use graphics processors for plug in processing. They managed that for bitcoin mining. The fasted gpu's nvidia make are hard to get because of miners
