I like Dr. Bill’s list, but I’ll bet there aren’t ten studios in the US that have everything on that list. I'd bet that number is considerably higher, but I'm no expert. The only real standouts appear to be the pair of C12s, a U47, and a pair of 77DXs. and the room. I bet the c12's are rarer than 47's at this point especially if you consider clones viable options. And I've never heard a c12, but if they somehow sound better than redds as oh's (which I'm sure they very well may) I never want to hear them.

"In other words, Apple needs Final Cut Pro to run well on the new Mac Pro, so the Pro Workflow Team helps keep those two projects closely aligned. The workflow team is also tasked with interfacing directly with pro consumers and the communities of workers who use Apple hardware and software across graphic design, film editing, animation, and other industries." www.theverge.com/2018/4/5/17202710/apple-mac-pro-new-2019-release-date-confirmedNot one mention of logic or audio users. Left behind. The trashcan may be my last mac. And if I leave mac, I'll probably leave iOS too. Not to mention if the iMac pro was the canary in the coal mine, the new modular Mac Pro system will probably cost as much as a vintage fairchild. I'm out.

The only way this ties to music is I heard about him in a jack white interview. I have really enjoyed listening to his lectures though so I thought I'd share. Very thought provoking. m.youtube.com/c/jordanpetersonvideos

The Neumann are coming out slowly. The Neumann rep said that the fall speculations are incorrect. However, they are overwhelmed with the demand. I haven't got mine yet.

Warm has an opamp in the metering section I believe the Stam does too. Both have non original power supplies. I do not know how much difference this makes electrically. This s inaccurate. The SA-2A has follows the original schematic on the power supply. Chris is probably referring to another manufacturer as we use the correct NOS 6AQ5 tube for compression. Using an opamp on the metering section has absolutely no bearing nor influence on the sound or performance of the unit, it is merely there to ensure the proper function of the VU meter. I think a product should speak for itself, there is no need to rant at others although I have done the same in the past, as a geek tech it is something we can't help sometimes. If we are going to point fingers at each others build we should also mention the positive things, the SA2A uses the finest transformers available in the world which are the very expensive Sowter transformers, there are far more important on the tone of a unit and approaching the original frequency response than a op amp on the VU meter which in fact has no bearing at all. There is a rea stamCould you process my refund? Thanks.

I probably shouldn't even contribute since I've only ever used a handful of 500 series modules but I landed on a pair of the Great River Harrison 32C and they're indispensable to me. You can push the frequencies around like crazy and it just sounds right. They're creamier than SSL 611's or API 550b's but not overly colored. They just kind of impart a smooth, console-ish sound. Like what plugin console emulations pretend to do. great river is one hell of a stand up company too.

I like my pair of Avedis e27s on just about anything and I have a pair of IGS 576 blue strips that are great on electric and acoustic guitar. Also a fan of the Serpent Audio SB4001 and would love to try the Splice SA76. Another vote for the Avedis E27 EQs. Just engaging them with no filters on makes the source sound larger. They're not cheap tho I wonder how much of that is his opamp. Would be worth a shot doing CAPI eq avedis opamp. save a few hundred per module. I really want to hear CAPI's eq's and compressor. I have a feeling they would have been on my list.

It's the same reason someone would run a mix through a pair of preamps. Colors the sound with what amounts to distortion characteristics. it can be very pleasing and useful.

It is modeling capi. It models the vp28 and one other preamp. I'm guessing the 312. 2 of 8 preamp models are capi Oh no kidding? I thought the original Pink was API. Well, so is capi... for the sake of conversation, is modeling a model more distasteful than modeling the original? You can also argue that capi added to API. Acoustica added to both of them with the addition of filters from emerald, not to mention a digital version of etc.. Pink 2 is much more robust and inclusive than pink. A lot has been added and you can load individual plugs OR the channel strip unlike pink.

Saw those knobs. I can’t imagine someone is real happy about that. Anyway, don’t think this is modeling CAPI, probably just avoiding any trademark issues with API (since they apparently Go after people.) It is modeling capi. It models the vp28 and one other preamp. I'm guessing the 312. 2 of 8 preamp models are capi

Aqua pink 2 I have been absolutely floored with acoustica since the purchase of pearl 2. Gold has been on every session since I got it. If pink 2 is as well executed as gold, I'll be in 7th heaven. UAD can suck it. 😂 Dude! You have Pearl 2? You're the only other person I know that has it! That 5kHz shelf is on every 2 mix I do...Phenomenal. Gold (with EQ and going through the 2254) is on every drum bus. I haven't gotten on so much with the limiter, but the EQs are great. Pink2 seems to be worth the price of admission. they even modeled some capi eq's. The eq is stellar as we have come to expect from acoustica. Definitely a fan.
