I'm very curious. I have currently use amphion one18's. I sold my Adam a7x's for them. I wanted to try something new. I'm finding my mixes are lacking in the high end now. I need to not be scared of the brightness these monitors have. Turns out they are a bit bright in the high end. I'm very curious about these ns10m's. I haven't ever heard them and need to rearrange some things to fit them in my studio. I think today is the day I'll plug em in. Can't wait. I mix at very low levels so I think they will work nicely for me to have as another tool. Honestly, my main reason for getting them was that countless albums have been mixed using these. I think that referenccing other mixes on them will be very telling of my room etc. as I'll be able to hear the mixes as the engineer heard them while he was working. That seems to me to be a priceless lense to have. And at $900 for a pair with an amp it was a no brainer for me. Hmm...my One18s aren't overly bright. What amp are you using? Eh...probably just me getting used to them. I'm using amphion mono blocks.

Km54 Km86i pair Ns10m pair Yamaha p2200 amp Nice. Have a KM54 but have been looking for a couple of KM86's for a while. Yeah I just got mine. Unfortunately it has the Mylar kk64 or 84 capsule. Now I'm on the prowl for a kk54 capsule. I'm going to ask shannon if he could whip something up. I put a wtb on gs for a working or non working kk54. I'd def be happy to let shannon reskin it. He does nickel work. I think that's my best option unless I can find one that doesn't need work. With all that being said I may be satisfied with the Mylar cap. But since I'm this close I may as well get a kk54 too. Max it out. I haven't gotten my Schaal psu so i haven't heard it yet. Eagerly waiting. I have a handful of m582 with m70's that where worked on by grosser and thiersch and I love them. I'm interested in hearing the nickel capsules for 582's... I think it's the m94 capsule or something. If the 54 sounds better than my m70's, which I expect it will, I will be a happy camper. I haven't received my km86i's yet. I'll let you know my thoughts. I picked them up for 2k a piece. I didn't think that was too bad. Everything is so expensive these days it's just like, oh well. What are you gonna do? Not get it? Haha

1966 b15n Re-201 space eecchhoo so fresh it still has the factory plastic wrap on the knobs. Thanks reverb! Rca 77 dx Another Ampex 601 Telefunken d19 Fluke Space echo's rule, I love RCA ribbon, the D19 is great on acoustic and I love my Fluke. I have a pair of 601's I still need to bring back to life. Tell me what you use yours on and how they sound? Sounds like we have similar tastes! Unfortunately, to be honest I have yet to hear my 601's. I became interested in them lately because of a local here paul mahern. He records entire albums with one. I really enjoy ribbons mics and supposedly it's a good match for them. We shall see. I got both of them for (relatively) cheap on eBay. One has the tape machine and the other does not. They both need work and both have power cords that need replaced. I'm about to send them to christian ruggiero for work. He did a bang up job on my 1567a and specializes in tube gear. He was referred to me by Thomas gruning. I found this website on the net as well. It has some educational info that I will be basing my refurb/mod requests from. fixthatmix.com/ampex601.phpHow do you like the 601?

Plugins.
I feel like plugins don't make me a lot of money, and are instantly worth less the second you buy them. People come to my studio at this point because of word of mouth from past projects, and my mic/outboard collection. Plugins don't directly help get me any new clients. That being said, if they help my end product then they do help indirectly.

My main issue is with my m269c with power supply nn48h. I'm having trouble calibrating the heater voltage. Even when it is warmed up the voltage at the tube varies from 3.77-4.08vdc at the tube pin 3. I'm shooting for 3.95vdc, never over 4.08vdc. Pin 2 reacts immediately to the trim pot inside the psu and reads 1.41vdc
I checked the outlet I was using and it read 122vac. The other day it read 119vac. It wouldn't be a major issue but I don't want to have to replace that ac701k anytime soon. Or ever if I can do anything about it.
Perhaps there is another issue I am unaware of that is causing this other than the outlet's voltage sway.
And to be clear I am more concerned with voltage regutalors than conditioning/isolation at this point. Haven't had any issues really.
Thanks for the extremely quick replies. This forum kills.

Hello all. I have some tube mics that prefer 117v. Some are quite finicky and I'd like to give them what they want.
I have really only found one good option so far for a voltage regulator. The furman p1800ar. It's like $750. Ouch. Also, this unit does not let me specify the output voltage.
So far searching the web I can only find work bench units and I'd like something that is a little simpler and made for running equipment, not testing it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

I'm thinking about two channels Gordon or two npng's myself. I need to hear them though. And then there is the dacs. Ugh too many choices. We live in blessed times.

M269c V76/80 Foote P4s Plus with FCS 2736 and 2737 input output Ampex 601 pre Amphion one18 w/ mono blocks Dbx 161VU Ok, well done... now listen here for a moment. I mean really listen. Put down the phone. Look into my eyes,. Concentrate on the sound of my voice. It's very soothing and calming, isn't it? Now together let's go through a relaxation exercise. I say 1, you say A, I say 2 you say B and so on.... ...and y 25. WHy? In 25 days you're going to grow very tired of the M269c and wish to find it a new home. I'm here to help you. I'm going to take you out for a great dinner and drinks and then you can say good bye to the old Neumann Microphone and know that it will be taken care of. Everything will be so much better then. Hilarious. Here's the thing. I've already had nightmares of the ac701k going out and having to buy another. Thinking about getting a power conditioner so it has an even clean electric line going to it. Maybe that's overkill...
