That is cool to see. Still have an older Mac pro like that and have often wondered how I could upgrade it to thunderbolt.

I don't think they can upgrade the cheese-graters to thunderbolt. I believe they upgrade the 2013 trashcan if you need thunderbolt.
If they can upgrade the older macs to thunderbolt that really would be an achievement.

I have a Mac pro tower I still use but not much for audio anymore. Will have to look into making a Hackintosh out of it maybe.

I made a hack out of my cheesegrater. I didn't have any problems but it didn't have thunderbolt. Thunderbolt on PC motherboards is still not that cheap as only the gaming motherboards really support it. When i was looking it was a bit hit and miss if you could get it running. There are probably more hack build with thunder bolt now though. I have a 2011 i7 mac mini with all the upgrades I use, it is still going strong thought the fan is noisy.
Waiting to see what apple brings to the table next. I it wasn't for logic i would really like to jump on windows 10 instead of being tied to apple.

I deal with that all the time with Pyramix.. Will be interesting to see if they cater to professionals again..or if they disappoint again. The iMac Pro is extremely impressive and powerful....also cost more then some cars..

I don't look forward to upgrading in the near future. One of my ram sockets on my Mini mysteriously went bad... Now I am trying to work with only 8gig ram, not very fun. Thinking of getting a 2013 4core trash can for all the thunderbolt ports.

Refurbished Mac Pro 5.1 is what I did and I am happy that I have not bought the trashcan or the iMac. A good reference for choosing one is the Logic Benchmark Test. logicbenchmarks.com/benchmark-results/

I'm on a 2009 era Mac Pro tower, runs great. Sucks that there's no TB but my next converter will be Dante or AVB. Seems like that's the future of audio (or at least should be).

I’ll probably get an iMac of the non pro variety - if they still make with i7s or whatever the latest and upgreatest is.

I'll probably go down the same route as you when the inevitable happens J K. I don't hear anyone complaining about fan noise on i-macs so I guess it's not an issue?
Cheers, Ross
