Any of you guys have any experience with the Audio-Scape 76N? I grabbed their Opto recently and I'm happy with it but I can't find anything online about this unit.

I think it's brand new. Not likely to be much info out there yet. If I was looking for a 2RU 1176, I'd definitely consider it.
But I just bought my third and fourth 500 series 1176 Splices.

I'd like to see the pics of your setup man. I think you have as much outboard as everyone on this forum combined.

Thanks for that. I searched the threads but I didn't think to search reviews.

Also waiting on some "yet to be released" 500 series stuff for my tracking rack. THEN, I should be fairly complete.

The G is so well done. I prefer it to my stam, but I like the stam too.

Emails answered promptly and shipped quickly and very carefully packed. In terms of sound, I find the AS smoother and seems a step up,more refined ? There’s something about it’s stereo image/envelope I prefer. I use my stam regularly in the mix, say my drum buss and like it too but use the AS on my 2 buss. If the Stam diy mod is ever released, I would like to do that, just to give that unit two sounds , not as a criticism of its current sound. Just my .02!

I have not tried the Stam, but have the Audio-scape bus compressor and have no complaints. Fast shipping, quick response to emails, and great quality. I use mine on the insert of my Silver Bullet. I would not hesitate to buy again from Audio-scape. I'd love to try some of the Stam stuff also as it seems to be great quality.

Yeah, both Chris and Joshua are making great gear at really great prices. I didn't find one to be of better quality than the other. I popped the lid on both. There is a lot more going on (component wise) in the Stam, for sure. I also found the Stam to be physically stouter, though that could be because the Stam is not vented. The needle on the meter of the Stam is a lot bouncier than the needle on the AS. I never noticed before I had both side by side. I prefer the less bouncy meter of the AS, though that could be something that could be adjusted. They both use the same quad VCA's. I prefer the knobs on the Stam. They feel and look a bit nicer.
The threshold is very different on the two pieces. I prefer the threshold range on the AS. On the Stam, I feel I'm turning the threshold very far in the ccw direction before seeing GR. With the AS, I'm operating more in the 10 to 2 range. I like the built in sidechain on the AS. Isn't it like 160 or so?
I feel they sound pretty similar. At one point, I thought the AS had a wider stereo image. I went back and forth between the two on a blind A/B. I feel I slightly preferred one over the other fairly consistently, so I kept that one and sold the other.
But both are solid pieces of gear. Chris is a pleasure to deal with and I've never had any communication issues with Joshua. He's been great, too. They both make affordable, rock solid gear, which I like. I think they're approach differs a bit. I don't know if Chris does the whole presale thing. If you're in the U.S., it might be worth looking into an AS piece. Availability of the Stam is always a consideration.
Those are my thoughts. In the end, you can't go wrong with either.

We are in the Golden age of affordable gear and I think everybody should indulge and thank the DIY community for helping make these affordable options possible with their never ending quest to build the perfect clone and the treasure trove of information they provided along the way! Not saying these guys copied DIY kits but they sure beniefitted from all that info!

So about an hour ago I tried to order the Audio-Scape 76A and when I tried to place the order, it got rejected because of some issue with my login password. I sorted that and tried to order it again but when I got to the end, it said the unit was out of stock. For the last hour I was wondering which one you guys swiped that unit out from under me. Then I checked my email and it was me. So the 76A will be heading my way this week.

I've got the SSL 4k. I'm thrilled with it. Haven't tried any of the others yet but I'd wager a guess that they are top shelf as well.
