Well, every time I increase storage, it costs more. I appreciate the donations, but there are only I believe two people that give a small amount via monthly donation…and I’d say there have been an average of about 3-5 donations a month (including the aforementioned people). So, I still spend out of pocket. I’ll go in and delete some of the old attachments and that will clear some space…but I haven’t even bothered talking about it because it’s just so easy to type in postimages.org and upload it there. Copy and paste the link and presto. It appears. I hear you. I'l send in a donation soon.

After running through an mountainous slurry of mic's I've finally found my "flagship" and as per usual it wasn't what I expected. It's not like my voice is that fussy, any SDC, relatively detailed or flat(ish) or C800 style mic will work. The issue is I'm quite loud and it helps if I'm closer to the mic because of it, unfortunately that's where dynamic's or ribbons usually shine but none, not even the venerable MD441 had enough detail or sensitivity to get the best out of my vocals. What I needed is an SDC style stage mic I could use in the studio and the KMS 105 fit the bill perfectly there. Point being is even after all these years I'm still surprised at which random mic works, I got a clip on from a singer using an AT2020 which sounded fantastic even though many seem to disregard that mic. I heard a French singer on a TLM-170 and that was great, Chris likes their AKG 120.. As for the KMS105 it's very similar to the KM184 but far less fussy. It's detailed, relatively neutral (besides that high end bump) and I know some don't like the KM184, heck even I think by itself the 184 is a weird sounding mic but in a mix I love them.
You might also wish to consider a vintage Neumann KMS84. I have three of them and they are DIVINE!

Kenetek is as good as it gets, honestly, better than it gets. Nobody makes a better one. And so many options available! and Bill is a prince to deal with.

Recently chose an Oktava mc012 over all my Neumann 84s with an old Martin D28.
Darker, meatier and just fit better.

I only have RE20s because my father on his deathbed said to me, "Son, never use a dynamic microphone larger than your manhood". My mother's nickname for him was "Big Daddy" and as far as I can remember he never wore short pants. Your mother was a very happy woman.

Never buy a super old RE-20, all I'll say. One of the more annoying repairs when the foam disintegrates. know enough about your mics assemblage that you can take them apart, examine the foam and replace it before it goes bad. ESPECIALLY true of EV and Sennheiser dynamics.

Like so many others, I have a dual 12 Tannoy sub from 1990. Barely on. Just enough to add enough sub content that I can hear everything. I don't aim for the ideal audiophile consumer listening environment.

On the other hand, I've spoken to some very experienced audio engineers that insist that size doesn't matter, and in fact are preferable to mics that can fit into tighter places in of course the right circumstance. (And now we return you to your regularly scheduled programing) This is one topic I would really like to consult Sylvia Massy on this kind of talk. I'd bet she'd straighten us out.

The CAD Equiteks are not bad mics at all. Not great, not quiet, not about to make others fold up their booths and never show their faces at NAMM again, but not bad. I have a 1991 Equitek II

Whoops. Bought this Champagne Sparkle Jet. Always wanted one, loved that this one has chrome and not gold hardware. Sounds great too! But I do need to part with a guitar or three to really justify it Vintage, US Custom shop, Japanese Custom Shop?

Also make sure to buy a vibraslap no matter what. I got Vibraslapped in the face, on my last trip onstage. Ended up with a case of serious Percussion*. The arriving EMT's treated the Perps instead. With free shots! I tell ya. No respect. Chris *Shakers/Maracas/Rain Stick/You name it. Did you mic this with an RE20 or an M88 ?

Shakers? My double barreled LP is my favorite, but I also love those cheap $2 Egg Shakers. Maracas sound like paint rattle cans. The big yellow LP Maracas/shakers are pretty go for fast continuous stuff. Cabasa is also a must!

Thanks guys! For some reason, I had it in the back of my mind that the K7 is some sort of cross-breed between the M7 and K47. I must have been remembering it wrong. I’m quite familiar with the Thiersch M7 Redline. I’ve used mics with them quite-often, but have never had them in my own mics; even though I own one (it’s slated for a mic though). Sorry to hear of your possibly-defective Beesneez M7 though! I also have a 3U M7 slated to go in a mic, but trying to decide if I want to try it first or just grab a Beesneez M7 for it. I think you’re right about the cross-bred nature of the K7. I have one that Ben put into my black spade mic around 2015. I later swapped it out for a heiserman 47. That was many years ago. I can tell you that the K7 is a more mellow sound than the Heiserman. The K7 is soft and throaty. I’ve been contemplating putting the K7 back into that mic. VERY interesting!

a healthy pour of Larceny over ice, followed by dark rum with a splash of Coke Zero. Why the Coke Zero? You've already come that far, what 25 more calories I frickin love a good rum and Mexican Coke with a squeeze of lime. Especially an undosed aged rum. I would definitely take can sugar cola over corn syrup or aspartame any day!

From everything I've heard and peers I've spoken to, the K7 and M7 are deadly accurate to their inspirational origins in Neumann's caps. And the Neumann caps are different to each other. The M7 sounds more 'vintage' and smooth whilst the KK47 sounds more present and less muddy, and perhaps slightly aggressive
