I feel like the 87ai is more focused and blended in the mix better on both examples. I think the top end is what's bothering me. Redd is still fantastic and would likely sound better IMO on some different sources. They need an input jack on that mic so u could hook up another mic to the built in preamp.

Sounded nice but that has to be the least in-depth review I've seen in a while. Haha

Here's a take on it Wiz. Enjoyed mixing this, super relaxed tune.

i liked the stam better on everything. UAD just doesn't do it for me. the stam doesn't seem to have any annoying frequencies sticking out, just makes it blend. definitely looking forward to some stam, heritage, and warm audio shootouts when the other two become available.

What’s up with Cubase not recognizing my iZotope plugins? Anyone figure that out?

Yeah, I know and apparently we need still more. Maybe if Jeff steiger releases some DIY models that can be put in a modular console that will shut people up.

Someone please come out with another 1073 clone so we can talk about that instead.

Except that the AML's include the preamp and eq in one unit. If you read the description of these above, the 73 eq is a mic pre and eq. Eq denotes the addition of the eq to the preamp. . 899 I stand corrected! That is a good deal! Can't wait to hear the first reviews.

Last time I checked, the AMLs were $1042 and these are $899...so...they're cheaper. Except that the AML's include the preamp and eq in one unit.

I put shrink wrap on the contacts to at least make it safer. It didn't fix the hum obviously. I have a Strymon Zuma for power supply. Don't think that is the issue. I'll replace the power input connection if I have to but it might be easier to change the 1/4" inputs because I won't have to drill new holes in the side. Do you think different input jacks would work better?

It is! I bypassed the power outlet and just ran the plug directly to my power supply and all is well. What is the best way to fix this? Will heat shrink around the connectors fix it?

So I just got my first pedalboard. It has several 1/4" input jacks on the side that are also next to the power feed. The cabling was all done with Mogami. Anytime I connect my guitar to any of these three jacks it introduces some hum into the signal chain. If I simply bypass these jacks and plug directly into my tuner I don't have any hum and it's completely clean. Any idea what could be causing this? Is this normal?
Thanks

Stereo file but nothing was panned so it's really just dual mono.

I was recently at a conference where the AE forgot to change his music feed to records from pre-fader to post-fader, had the music playing in the entire time, and recorded the music over the presentation spoken word audio for several days.
Anything that can be done about this? iZotope RX plugin maybe?
If the music that was recorded was matched with the music files in a DAW and the phase was flipped, would that work? I'm assuming it would have to be at an identical location and the volume would have to be matched. And what a tedious pain in the ass that would be. But is it possible. We're talking about a multi-million dollar client here.
Would a professional audio cleanup house be able to do this?
Thanks!

thinking about getting the upgrade from 8 but wanted to see if it would still run plugins like my URS CCS which is still only 32bit compatible. Not really using it on much anymore because it's not 64bit but would like to know if I can still open up old sessions that has it on it....

yeah, i feel like the kemper is a great replacement for the amp itself, and while i really like the idea of profiling each song, i don't want to HAVE to do it that way. if I want to make a chance i want to have the controls in front of me. and i don't know how well a kemper would profile the effects pedals. it has built in effects, but the reverbs are not quite there yet as well as the character you get from a cool modulation pedal.

So I'm having a buddy of mine build a nice quality board. He does great work and I want to make sure I get this thing right. I have a kemper and want to be able to have the kemper a decent distance away from the board if i'm going to be using it live. Right now I'm just in the studio but I want to plan ahead if possible. If I do the routing like I think I need to it's going to require several signal runs back and forth from the board to the kemper. What I'd like to do is hit my compressor, overdrive, etc. in mono, send it to the kemper, get the amp sound and delays etc.... and then send it back to the board in stereo as an external stereo pedal on the kemper to hit my strymon big sky etc... then stereo back to the kemper. by my count i'll need 1 1/4" input for signal from guitar. 1 1/4" output to the kemper. 2 back in from stereo FX loop, 2 back out. total of 6. I'm also thinking about just adding a cat5e connector because i'll likely get the kemper remote at some point. am i missing anything here? i'm new to pedalboards and want to make sure i'm not making this more complicated than it needs to be. i just want to have the option of sending stereo delay from the kemper into a stereo reverb and can't think of a better way to do this. I'm thinking about just getting a mini snake with 8 channels on it so i have some extras just in case. any other suggestions for connections? Here's my buddy's website for pedalboards if anyone is in the market. www.beardedboards.com/

Yes, keyscape is the one to go for. It's just awesome. The braunschweig thing is cool although I've always thought it had some weird frequencies you have to tame when trying to make it fit in a mix. It's got a lot of character though.

Will the rhodium make it sound as good as a Slate virtual microphone 87?
