If you guys haven't heard of it, check out spectacle. It's a free app for Mac that lets you snap windows wherever you want them with customizable keys. Really helps with window management.

Anyone know of a cool voice changing plugin to get that effect when they hide someone's identity in interviews, etc...

If I recall correctly, Oliver Archutt before he passed converted one or two TM 149s to 49s with very happy customers so it can be done. Cheers, Ross I actually have one that Oliver Archutt and Danny Bouchard or poctop as he is known at group diy put together. I think Danny did the pcb and Oliver did the rest, from scratch. It wasn't a conversion. I've only heard an M49 in recordings but it was enough for me to want one more than other mics I've heard. So I don't know how close it is to the real thing but it sure seems to me to have "that special dust"

Haha, people buy preamps that are 10k? You could pick up a dozen of the Stam 1073's for that price. And they'd look cooler too. The Midas looks like a plugin GUI.

Does the 2:1 ratio have any effect on the all buttons in effect? Does it sound different because it's 2:1 and not 12:1? It will some, because the all buttons in or multiple buttons is kind of an average. So if you press four and eight you get around six. With 4,8,12,20 all buttons in is kind of 11:1. 2,4,8,20 it would be something like 8.5. But it’s wonky and it doesn’t really work exactly like that, so I’m not sure you’d notice anyway. I see. Well if i don't notice then I guess I'm in for 2:1, but if I do notice, then 12:1. 😂

So can one assume that the meter is GR only? yes, the description on Stam's website is more detailed and this is the case.

Wish I could afford two. I did order one though. The A, D and G in one unit is awesome. Love that idea, especially for the price. Speaking of two units, what about stereo linking? was wondering about this as well. although i did just hear CLA saying he never stereo links his compressors because it makes the signal sound more mono. thought that was interesting for what it's worth.

if they are just resisters why not just cut them out and replace them yourself ? i guess i figured it would be best to get the pads nice and clean before resoldering. but if that works, maybe that would be the best way!

anyone know of anyone in nashville that has a hakko and is capable of desoldering 4 resistors? made a mistake and need to swap them but don't really feel like spending several hundred for the hakko and doing it myself. willing to pay someone to do it!
thanks.

been waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger on a 1073 clone and decided to go with Stam. just ordered 2 with the sowter line in. I'm still early enough for the $200 discount, right Stam?

Hey dudes. So I'm firmly into VI land lately for lots of reasons. I'm looking for some recommendations for synths. I'm a classic rock junkie and I like all the usual vintage, touchstone stuff. My go-to for years has been DCAM Synth Squad, which I still like, but it's just not as quick and intuitive as I'd like. It's very tweak-y and I think I'm maybe looking for some more obvious, vintage emulations. You guys certainly steered me right with Keyscape. Softsynth-wise, Whaddya got??? You see where Behringer just dropped their hardware Moog model D for like $300? Yeah, I'm seriously considering this one. It would be my first behringer purchase.....

I bought a pair of sony over the ear bluetooth headphones a coupleyears back and they have performed very well for $100. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another pair from sony if these were to fail at some point. what model did you get? i'm definitely not looking to get over the ears, still wanting to keep it in-ear.
