thinking about getting the upgrade from 8 but wanted to see if it would still run plugins like my URS CCS which is still only 32bit compatible. Not really using it on much anymore because it's not 64bit but would like to know if I can still open up old sessions that has it on it....

I thought they killed the bridge in v9. I demo'd it, but, I don't have any 32bit only plug ins on the system--I moved to all 64bit in 2011/12.

FWIW, I stopped supporting 32-bit VST/VST3 plugins a year ago. Of course I never hear from people who successfully use bridge software. But I do hear once in a while from people who have trouble with it (can't name any particular bridges--it's not something I keep up with). But this really points to an essential approach people should take to heart:
If--for whatever reasons--you've decided to stay with an older environment (OS, DAW, etc), then don't try to put anything new on a working system. Don't update anything. We developers have to spend a lot of time getting things to work on all the variants of current and new stuff. There simply isn't enough time to check every possible permutation of things out there. There would be thousands of combinations, and support becomes increasingly expensive for a diminishing user base. So take care of that old system. Back it up regularly. Keep all of your installers. Keep the system behind a firewall and don't ever browse with it. And don't be tempted by "just one little upgrade". Be happy in the fact that you've got a system that works for you every day. There may be great new things you're missing out on, but be in charge of when you go forward. That one little update that breaks your system could cause a mad and expensive scramble at just the wrong time.
And if you're inclined to bemoan spending $$ on that new DAW, computer, plugins then just think about how much that pancake of 2" Ampex tape used to cost.
