Just as a point of fact and because it's a subject upon which there is great confusion of thought, it's worth noting that the existence of God (or anything beyond physical nature) can never be proven or disproven by science. Science has nothing to say on the subject. Good point. Like a jump off a tall building to the concrete below can be used to test the effects of gravity, the final physical (or metaphysical?) proof of God and the afterlife is not made absolutely evident until the very end of the experiment. So jump, or don't jump. ;-)

Anyone heard the powered Kali monitors? They seem to be liked by Warren Huart. They remind me a little of the JBL LSR series, in general design, anyway.

As many of us are aware, it is a significant effort to complete a project like that, and you have my sincerest congrats, Martin!

Or perhaps an air freshener that smells like a vintage Gibson guitar case? Or... the smell of a vintage tube guitar amp that has been left on for a few hours. ;-)

If you can't open it with a double click, then the file is corrupt. Not always true. As mentioned in another post I just made, Keka is needed to open some of the libraries from IK Multimedia in Sierra-- they claim the built-in file compression in Sierra has problems. And I tried several, and Keka worked when others failed.

+1 This, btw.... is the one that works with some of the latest IK Multimedia libraries on Sierra.

All the Klanghelm stuff is incredible value (in the interests of full disclosure, I beta test for them). The VU meter is the closest in ballistics to my hardware VUs. MJUC is my fave tube style plugin comp. DC8C3 will be out soon. Can the DC8C be used as a brickwall limiter, or is more suited as a mastering compressor? Any recommendations of best uses?

I recently actually acquired a pair of KRK 703c's with Focal drivers, and just got them set up last night. I am really liking them a lot, even though I was only able to listen quietly (due to the late hour). They sound very clear and alive. (pic links below) I have a question:
They have a "Clearmountain" mod, which is supposed to offer an option for a rolled-off high end (3 terminals with jumper wire between 2 of them), but it has no markings. Anybody know how the mod is suppose to work? (Again, because I was only able to listen quietly, moving the jumper wire didn't _seem_ to make a difference.) --- KRK 703C - Focal Drivers (front)KRK 703C - "Clearmountain" mod terminals

Is the perspective all effed up on that pic or am I having a stroke? You are not "seeing things"... they used an image of the faceplate from head on, and married it with an enclosure viewed from an angle. Very weird, indeed.

I demoed it. I sent it back because it didn't align well on the screen with Cubase's faders and the one button push key command functions didn't work. I also had trouble aligning it with Pro Tools. You might want to check out DTouch, and set up your own touchscreen hardware. DTouch is adding lots of nice features for Cubase/Nuendo lately. (sorry for the GS link)

mdmitch2 I shifted all the channel modules to the right in order to open up the left hand patchbay section to 19". By removing some blanking panels I managed to also create a second 19" wide section (13 RU) on the right where the producer's desk was located. It's easy to widen or narrow these bays by removing the screws that fix the vertical mounting strips to the cross rails and then sliding them to wherever you want them. Now that is what I like.... a "balanced" mixing console! (as in, symetrical... get it??!!)

Bass is too muddy, and over powers the mix, even on the cheap lacking-low-end headphones here at work.
The organ could be stronger.
The drum components sound generally good, but that's just it... it doesn't sound like a kit. I would try to get more of a "room sound" going for the kit, and also bring the toms in a bit -- they are too wide for my taste.
Overall, the mix doesn't gel.

Is that Linda McCartney on the right of the picture? I don't think so. Maybe George's girlfriend, or wife?

The TFPro P2 -- dual-channel preamp, eq and optical compressor.
I have heard it is one of the earliest models Ted Fletcher developed when he first started TFPro.
Anyone have experience with it, or know any info?

It's really a bummer. Tim seemed like a cool dude with strong values and he was passionate about his work. I like supporting companies like that. I was really rooting for his company. I supported Tim by buying this from his first batch when he was painting them on his back porch. What took him under was when he offered a tube setting and didn't charge previous owners for the upgrade. It involved changing the case and adding the tube and parts, basically getting a new unit and leaving him with a pile of old cases. Also too many products with too many options. I have one of the Mammoth Cave Audio Ground Control Deluxe, with custom options, an extra input pair, including a separate 4th output for a subwoofer amp, with a switch to set it out/in as needed: I also am the first owner of the tube version of the Wooly Mammoth Deluxe, with the new case and paint color, plus an extra input transformer option (Haufe), and input line preamps (the white knobs): I had taken delivery of the Wooly Mammoth Deluxe I had originally ordered, but it needed a repair, and while Tim had it, he told me about his idea to offer a new MkIII Tube Edition... and charged me a modest upgrade fee, as it was the first attempt. I was sad to see things go sour for Tim. I hope he is OK. - Bruce

Wonder if there are line ins. According to a post from Steven over on the other forum, you are supposed to be able to use the "instrument" inputs for line in. Also, I see that the inputs on the rear are Neutrik Combo's -- so line is likely possible there, I'd think.

One thing to remember is he has an association with Paul Wolff, who likely had a hand in the VRS8 design.

I predict Slate DAW this time next yr.. Ditto that. And you can only get it if you buy a Raven, and only works with Slate plugins, me thinks.

I have a Sonic Studio 302, which is a Sonic Studio-branded Metric Halo ULN-2.
It also has the 2D + DSP card, and along with all the embedded Metric Halo plugins in the firmware, it also offers the acclaimed Sonic Studio Mastering EQ.
I am interested in taking full advantage of the 302 for mastering & mixing, and would appreciate hearing any advice on others use the same gear (including any of the Metric Halo gear).
Thanks, Bruce

Oh, this is the sort of thing I almost had custom built, when I was still trying to do analog summing.
It features not only ability to use a send/return on every input channel, but also in the 4 subgroups.
Think of doing sub-group summing on the drums/bass + guitars + keys + plus vox, then summed into a 2bus.
It is very much like having an 8-bus section + master section of an analog console.

The 2nd link in the OP does not work unless you are logged in with a RealGearOnline.
And, the link used in the default tweet text is to that 2nd link.
Instead, the 1st link should be used in the default tweet text, or the 2nd link should not require a login.
Or, am I missing something?
(btw... I am on a PC, not a mobile device)
