My new album, "What the Heart Only Knows" is finally available worldwide. I'm so grateful to everyone who's love and encouragement helped me keep going. You can buy the album or singles at CD baby, and you can also get it on iTunes, but you have to go to the iTunes store and search for martin john butlerI'd left the music business when my wife suggested I record some music for our wedding. As I slowly moved back into recording my songs again, I had many hurdles to cross because I'd never recorded digitally, and it was complicated. Herbie Ray Music (the cowboycoalminer) at the Carolina Recording Company kindly offered to help, and with his support and brilliant playing and mixing, I began to find my way again. Folks at realgeaonline.com, Matt Blue, Ragan Crowe, John Kennedy, Jesse Coutou, Jerome Mason, Wiz, and so many others offered sage advice and support, I wouldn't have been able to make it sound like it does without them. Jesse mastered "Long Road Back", and Jerome prepared the tracks for online distribution. The amazing Mark Rabuck (M57) added such incredibly nuanced keyboards, it sounded like we'd been together forever. The stellar bass of Anton Evans (Henge) at Village Works Canada lifted it up from sounding like a good demo to become a true record. Hakan Hansson played drums and percussion on "Give Your Love", and it was outstanding. All along, Janet Dailey Butler was there, through every glitch, setback and complication, singing so beautifully with me it was as if we'd been a duo for a lifetime. I hope the message in the in-between of the songs brings everyone listening something they can cherish and share. Please help support my work by downloading, and acknowledge some of our Real Gear regulars. Even one dollar for a single makes a difference. store.cdbaby.com/cd/martinjohnbutler12?fbclid=IwAR1rQTA1AIQSIL5B6EaZbQzXSUf_QB3OHDd0OShe-uG0S5lBf6OK6rRLQW8

Strange, I could swear the CD Baby tracks sound better than the same tracks on iTunes

Unfortunately, CD Baby insisted I use 320 mp3's, so I couldn't even use CD quality files, but hopefully the heart within the music makes up for it. Thanks so much Eric, your support here has meant a lot to me. Can't wait to hear your impressions once you've had a listen.

Really awesome about the RGO collaborations.... Are you going to have hard-copy CDs available? Jeesh, I guess I'm old school. I would buy the entire album, sight unseen, knowing that "The Kindness Of Strangers" is on it. That beautiful song touched me and my girlfriend deeply when we heard it some time ago and you were kind enough to let me post it on my Facebook page.

Congrats Martin John Butler. Awesome to hear about the collaborations. Downloading now. Looking forward to the listen. You use the Soyuz into your Stam 1073 for all these?

30% or more was the Blackspade UM 17R, which is kind of between an M49 and a U47,into the Dizengoff D4. The other 70% was the Soyuz 0-19 into the Stam SA73. Only Long Road Back was the Soyuz 0-17 which I had for a week to test. Forgot to say the acoustic was mostly through a KM84, and a couple of tracks were done with the Soyuz 0-13.
I’m looking forward to your thoughts on it all.

Hi MJB. Just sent PM, to request the new CD. I want a couple of my friends, at the local FM station to hear it, when I play it for them.
I'm (relatively) a rookie here, but really appreciate all you guys! Thanks, Chris

Yes, Mr. Holmes. let me know if you're able to find it. It should be on every streaming platform there is. I hate them, but for now, I'll take the exposure.

Wait and see... it can be a good thing if you tell all all your friends and family. The main thing is you did something in troubeld times ... I like that fact alone. Good work.
Found it and I like Nr.5 "Give your love".
Sounds most like a record, the vibe is great vocal up, the reverb delay work is excelent.
The lyrics touch me and it sounds more 3D than all the oter mixes.... tasty....love it...

I took a spin through the CD Baby samples. The songwriting and production sound very professional to me. Reminds of the material we used to play when I DJ'd at WNKU in northern Kentucky. You should send a CD to Stacy Owen, the PD at WFPK in Louisville.
