I had the Klangehlem DC8C forever ony my short list, just because the MJUC made a lot of fun and was very nice. Today I am a little in a bad mood and I said... OK try it on some old mixes. To me the DC8C makes even more fun than any other compression plug in I met. It makes me want to remix some old songs. I used it on LV today and its a true creative tool, it forces you to listen. IMO it sounds as good as some of my hardware. Three dimensional, punchy - but still clean. It grabs the signal and holds it. If you want ad some saturation but I bet you love the clean sound too. 20 Euro its a joke by Tony? UAD would charge for something like this 299$ If you missed it.... 20 bucks is no RISK at all. klanghelm.com/contents/products/DC8C/DC8C.php

Usually have no interest in comp plugs -got lotsa hardware - but this looks intesting and a bit different.

That's one tweaked out compressor. Dirt cheap.

All the Klanghelm stuff is incredible value (in the interests of full disclosure, I beta test for them). The VU meter is the closest in ballistics to my hardware VUs. MJUC is my fave tube style plugin comp. DC8C3 will be out soon.

If I have the right setting, bang very 3D very natural sounding just 4 db GR give the sound a diffrent touch. I cant hear any compression artifacts like with other plugs, that makes it my Nr1. on LV. But the best is if I decide later to get some tube harmonics Post DC8C it very well works together. Who says you need UAD and WAVES to get things done is just ignorant. I am very thrilled to see DC8C3. Are you alloud to talk about some changes versus V.2?

I don't know anything much about DC8C3, just what Tony has already posted publicly on other forums, that he is currently working on it and it will be the next thing he releases. No beta yet!

Klanghelm makes some nice plugins and their customer service is excellent. I wrote to them a few weeks back and Tony got back to me within 30 minutes.

Never took this one, but I'll have to try it again now that I've basically ditched fader automation altogether in favor of just using clip gain.

I prefer MJUC. DC8C is too transparent for my tastes not enough character. The saturation on it is not the best so I usually leave it set to minimum.

All the Klanghelm stuff is excellent. I often use MJUC over outboard and UAD and waves. Thanks for reminding me to not forget about DC8C.

Yes thats why I wrote it works nicely together with some saturation POST DC8C. Lets see waht DC8C Version three brings to table. Maybe more saturation options- who knows.

Yes, this comp is smooth as a babies bottom and is as quiet as a barn owl in flight. If you want some color when putting signal through this blue wonder, then saturation plugins are a must, otherwise you won't really know it's there, if that's your thing or really need/want some stealth.

I'll have to try this out soon. Just used MJUC on a vocal today. Would be good to A/B compare them.

I usually prefer MJUC almost certainly because it's way quicker to setup, more than the overall sound. I'm not really into tweaking all those parameters in plugin land.

Jupp thats true but I want to support Tony with it he can go on with his work without having cashflow worries. There is, for those who ditched UAD and Waves like I did it, another intresting contender the DMG TRACK COMP. 1176 LA2A and SSL compression in one Plug In. The intresting thing here is the user interface....very good. dmgaudio.com/products_trackcomp.phpAnother one taht sounds as good as UAD or Waves or woh ever claims to be the best one in the business. Sepcial the LA2A reminds me on the HW unit well done DMG.

Yeah, DMG stuff is great too. I've never used a Waves, Slate or UAD plug, don't like their vibe. I've bought all the Klanghelm plugs BTW, only been beta testing since the the last SDDR update. Tony at Klanghelm (and Dave at DMG, and Sean at Valhalla) well worth supporting financially for what they do. Tony has a day job BTW, has said a few times the plugins are for the love.

UAD is my favorite one out of all the "evil corporations" haha. I couldn't mix without my UAD plugins. Guess I drank the Kool-Aid.
They don't win every A/B/C/D shootout, but they do win most of them, for me and my ears.

I have just always automatically dismissed UAD, as they need a hardware dongle to run, and I'd rather put the funds towards some actual hardware. I'm sure they sound great though, just not a contender for me.
