Melodyne 4 vs Revoice PART 2 installed the updated (melodyne) thanks for the heads up superwack Made a huge difference I am having trouble picking the artefacts under 20% This brings it way closer to Revoice so much so I think I need both really loving revoice but melodyne has stepped it up with 4 darn it.... The choose was simple with the bug in play.

Got my Beeznez mic back from @shannon at mic rehab about a week ago. From the emails I had with him I think he is quite mad. A mad genius, this mic is awesome (sounding) and looks stunning which I did not expect he truly is the master mic modder. I cannot thank him enough for his fantastic service and always fun but informative emails. I will be back as soon as I find a mic that needs a master service.

Been demoing Revoice and Melodyne 4 side by side. First impressions Revoice is not idiot proof "They said it was but I showed them ". Melodyne is simple to use but sounds like crap seriously they don't seem to have updated there pitch shifting code its just bad the interface is nice to work with but man first up it has to sound good... Revoice starting to get a handle on it and I should not be surprised with the likes of Bob here saying its good, I really hate its interface but it sounds so good no question which one I will be getting. Thanks for the head up guy's

there is some stuff there, but you could've gotten all of that and much more from a single year of any of the prior 40 no? I think it mostly depends on the genre of music that you're into. You're a big classic rock (and classic rock influenced) guy right? In the past 15 years, I think rock has mostly broken into more subdivisions that it had been prior. There are a lot more indie and metal acts (plus all the subdivisions of those categories) than straight ahead rock bands these days. If the indie / metal scene isn't your cup of tea, you've basically got the Foo Fighters and a bunch of mediocre rock (or even worse like Nickelback). I think the best of 2000+, just isn't the type of music that you dig, not that there isn't good stuff. It's just a sign that you're getting old, right? It's not an age thing the songs just don't hold up they date and disappear so much faster than they did in the 90's. A lot of the stuff I was playing in the 90's I can play still not the case for most of the newer stuff.

It's interesting I play in a couple of cover bands. Any modern stuff we do dates really quickly 12 months after we first play it the song is done (excluding frozen's let it go). Any earlier stuff is timeless There was a lot of rubbish produced in those eras so only the very best has lasted.. It's weird getting asked to play jessie's girl "again" by 20 years old's.

We've been seriously considering getting an elec kit here and naturally roland was the top of the list so this is super informative. I have a 2box drumit 5 Its awesome stranded heads super fast great feel very dynamic I tried the Roland td30 the 2 box is better IMHO.

And you also used the "B word"> there's no need for that kind of language around here. Some people might think that is worthy of an infraction! It's funny my live rig consists of 5 behringer power amps inuke 6000's and inuke 3000's I replaced yamaha, pevey, crown, power amps with the behringer amps as the others failed. I have not had a single issue with behringer they sound on par with the other amps but have simply been lighter and more reliable. My mixer is the Behringer xair 18 R which is awesome it replaced a mackie 1608 and before that an old Mackie 24 channel analog mixer the xair kills the mackie for functionality and I think sounds slightly better. Cannot say anything about their warranty because I have never had to use it. Rejecting behringer because it's cheap is very foolish IMO. Don't have any B stuff in my studio altho I like the look of the x-touch.

I find it ironic that there's such an outcry for software developers not getting paid, but no one seems to care that there are billions of dollars of revenue lost by songwriters for the same type of theft. Maybe that's the truth a reset required where everyone's rights are respected. However the small software guy's are just pawn's to.

I bought a Soyuz 017 after hearing a demo. Fantastic mic with genuine very seductive tone. I am very familiar with classic tube mics and here we operate some M50's, M49's and U47's. Soyuz is, in my opinion, the equal of the classics. TONE generator. I am bothered by people not recognizing that Russian production methods are perhaps not as technology oriented (latest CNC machines) as the west. Anyone who has visited Russia knows that. However, just like in the olden days in Austria and Germany, hand work was how they started and how many classic mics that we all admire were made. Also bogus to dis the mic while observing certain circuitry or even complaining about a simple circuit. All without hearing the mic! The Soyuz has some serious mic people behind it. Otherwise they could never produce the TONE generator that they have made. We where poking fun at their video which kind of deserves it. Great to hear the mic is fantastic.

I too always marvel at the alleged badness of iLok. I've never had an issue in years of use. It just sits there and works. In the old days I remember far to many problems, but I never. Got the total animosity, but I have always loved the simplicity and portability. We are a world of standards! I think the animosity has a lot to do with people who wanted cracked software and iLok has been prity good at protecting its customers. iLok is going to cause a lot less problems re machine stability than the cracked software and I hope it is riddled with malware.

It's true I won't post the link's but for win users iLock2 protection is busted the software is cracked so even if they patch the hole the cracked software is still out there. This is going to hurt some good people.

You can find the downloads Not sure if they work I won't steal and would not trust them even if I was that way inclined but you can find them. GS are crazy stopping the discussion the cat is out of the bag. I like my iLok it was easy to change computers and nice keeping track of my plugin's plus it fells good to have a tangible item that has some value. But this crack means a new one will be coming. Remember they cracked iLok 1 years ago..

Bugger iLok 3 now. Hope its a lot smaller. Lot's of cheering on the pirate site's sticking it to the big corporations forgetting iLok excluding a couple of company's are all mainly tinny company's employing a few developers and they are going to get hurt which means less good stuff being developed. Wonder what this means for Avid their share price is already in the toilet. Also wonder if slate will hold off on the virtual microphone I know it has the hardware mic but would you want the software floating around cracked? Sad Xmas for some good people. Way less plugins being released for a while. Only bright side its probably good for @johnkenns wallet with less plugin releases causing bad GASS
