Its an interesting question I think probably not their sound and songs fit their era (or did their music contribute to the era?? which means you cannot separate) But I think their music is 60/70's. Making it now is so tough I don't think a lot of ex massive groups would have a chance now. Pink floyd was funded for years by a record lable before the payoff wouldent happen now which is so sad. One of the only groups I think would be ok is Queen I don't think it matters what era you dropped them in Freddy was always going to be a star..

Hi everyone.
I play in a 6 piece band. Our setup Mackie 1608, floor monitor wedges (lots), guitar amps miced into the desk, bass amp with output to desk,Keyboard straight to desk, 5 vocal mic's, computer controlled lights, and finally Roland edrum with zilgian gen 16 cymbals (big fat fake kick drum out front for the look). I love this set-up so does our drummer its fast to set-up and pull down. All the instruments run thru the desk so getting the levels right can be done by the engineer via an ipad (awsome tech).
Here's where the Edrums shine we play in small pubs with capacity of around 100 people to larger out side gigs 1000 plus. The edrums mean we can sound good fast. With the drums going thru the mains the engineer has complete control of the levels we don't blast out the small venues and at the same time can sound massive outside. The zilgian gen16 acoustic/electric cymbals are awsome full dynamic control and feel but going thru the desk. Our drummer loves these cymbals and are what make's the ekit work so well. IMO cymbals are the weak point on ekit's zilgian has overcome that problem.
In a great sounding room with a good engineer and a great drummer a real kit is clearly the best. However when presented with bad sounding spaces so-so engineer Ekits are a viable alternative and infact may now be the best option.
