Not sure if I'm more or less relieved by the idea that you have neutrals but not grounds. For us it's 3 pins, all the time. I know people say the UK/Irish plug is one of the most over engineered in the world - but I don't consider that an insult. I know parts of the US are more arid and drifting grounds could make for tripping RCDs, but you just gotta bury that thing deep (and failing that, I've heard of people watering them). Anything over 60V has to be taken seriously, it's a health risk. No problem on the AFCI stuff. It was actually my curiosity that made me go over my old freshman knowledge on domestic electronics! The neutrals are ground we have the 3 pin's in OZ also but the reality is back at the switch board the neutral and earth are tied together they are basically the same as far as the equipment is concerned. High voltage falling onto the low voltage line will almost always blow your equipment the fuses are current triggered not voltage so if you have a 63 amp main breaker it has to exceed 63 amps for it to trip. One guess where the current goes and no you cannot put the smoke back in

I gotta be honest...after reading all this stuff, I'm not sure if I really want to start this project in Logic... You are not going to get any pay off going from cubase to logic they are muchness for muchness. The only DAW that will give you something different is Mixbus well worth the effort IMHO, yes Mixbus does sound different to everything else.

I liked it very cool.. I can see Tony's point about the keyboards and this is after all a site for producing music don't really care about the singer being believable he is awesome.

I monitor using console not software monitoring in logic while tracking which provides very low latency tracking with console but audio playback is not in time with what I tracked (barely out but out nonetheless.) Kcatthedog I've had Apollos for a couple of years and watch those setup videos many times Do wiz's trick and manually enter the latency

None of those options show up in my Mixbus Preference dialogues. No option for mix track scaling under GUI or playhead options under the transport preferences. Maybe because I'm on a mac? Yosemite 10.10.3. I posted on the Mixbus forum........we'll see. You most probably have not the latest interim version, you get that in a dedicated sub forum. I'm using 3.0.3146. I just use shortcuts, spacebar for start-pause and return for back to 00:00:00:00 ...? Newer version "you bastards" return nice... GUI show's up on my linux box 2.

Um...huh? Are you talking for external HW latency? Yep Logic has no auto HW latency correction you have to set this manually.

Make sure you check the latency and make the adjustment manually. Recorded an audio track I use a simple drum loop then then loop it back it and adjust the logic pro x, preferences, audio, move the recording delay around until they line up. Once you get that right you should be golden or instantiate an I/O plug in on a track, set the in and out the plug in to your Interface in and out you have linked with a patch lead, and hit PING! the readout is the recording delay cheers Wiz Little slow here wiz how's do I do this step by step? sounds the go if you get the recorded delay. Cheers

I have a dave hill europa 1 pre with speed control as you slow the speed down it rounds off the sound. If the pick on the guitar is to sharp dialing the speed back reduces its bite pulls the highs back a bit to. Speed controls how quick the pre responds to the incoming signal the pre is more or less inductive the faster the pre the less inductive the slow ones more. Any thing with a transformer in it will be slower than without, transformers are inductive.

Couple of dumb questions. Looks like you can use third party plugs. If so, why would you buy the Harrison ones? You can use third party so no reason at all unless you use linux Any one know a good gate cheap plugin ?

Just started messing around with this last night. Couple of questions: Is there a way I can get every audio track to show in the mixer window without having to scroll? I narrowed the tracks but there are only 6 or 8 that I can see along with 4 bus strips. When I'm in the mixer window how do I get playback to start at the beginning of the song? I can get it to stop (or pause) but I can't get it to start at the beginning. I'll start researching the playback setting..... To see more tracks there is a setting Mixbus, Preferences, GUI, Mixer strip scale make it 80 or 90% To play from the beginning Mixbus, preferences, transport, playhead behavior click play range selection hope that helps

The next thing is virtual audio tracks so that you can change notes, lyrics, etc after the musicians / vocalists leave..... Between revoice and melodyne 4 the only thing you cannot do is change the lyrics. You could shuffle them around. Not a bad idea for a plugin relyric

The grass is always greener but IMHO Logic smokes PT I was a PT user for over 8 years haven't found anything you cannot do with logic that pt could do.
