I got the J200. It sounds ok, but despite the solid woods and all, it’s definitely no Gibson. I’m hoping it will improve with age. In the meantime, it’s fun to have around, looks great in pictures, and I’ll probably use it for some overdubs anyway!
There’s a video from Andertons with a blind comparison, look it up if you can.

I have a few Philips Hue lights at home and they are great. I have just discovered that the newest models work with Bluetooth as well, not requiring the bridge and wifi network, and they make them with a GU10 connection. This means I could outfit my studio ceiling with them. Very cool!
Before I jump into that, are there any noise concerns? From the bulbs themselves, or the bluetooth connections, or who knows? It doesn't seem likely but I thought I'd ask here first!

I second the Tree Audio recommendation, that's what I do too! I haven't tried any of the Tree Audio 500 series stuff but it could be interesting, I think they are the same that used to be sold as Inward Connections.
If you want a 500 series Pultec, the A-Designs EM-PEQ is fantastic.
I think you're looking for 500-series only. If not, the Hammer EQ by A-Designs is incredible on vocals too!

A pair of the now discontinued DBX 560A. I think they will be useful enough! discontinued?? wow. Okay then. I still need a 2nd one so I'll have a pair. You can still get them in the US it seems. In Europe they are gone.

I thought the acoustic guitar sounded really different?

My wild guess:
A: U87 B: U67 C: 251, 441 or any other edge terminated mic
Very interesting comparison!
My reasoning is that A and B have a "family" sound but B is darker - thus: U67. C is brighter than both which suggests AKG family.

I have a few different styles of those. They are as good as an enclosure. I use them for tracking, no concerns.

You want spaced omni for that job. A pair of Oktavas with the Omni capsule does the job nicely. My Oktava bodies were modified by Joly, never used the stock ones.

I use my pair of Stager SR-2N for my upright Yamaha U1 and they sound stellar. They could be a great alternative to the Coles, easier to place and a bit less fragile.

I haven’t watched yet but I do own the Black Box hardware and I wouldn’t even think of mixing without it. The plugin is ok for some specific tasks but if I have to stay ITB it doesn’t automatically go into my mix buss.

That’s interesting. Usually I have hardware on the mix buss and for those times I have to stay ITB I still haven’t found my piece.
My hardware comp is SSL style (TK Audio). ITB I always try the SSL style ones I own (P.A. Townhouse and Slate) but it’s hit and miss.

Are you guys still loving this?
I still haven't used it for real. I haven't had time to really test it and learn it, and everytime I throw it randomly on the mix buss, usually in a hurry for some fix, I get second thoughts and try something else.

I missed this thread from March, but I'll add my input anyway ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I own the APS Aeon, first model. They are fantastic, I couldn't imagine them lacking anything in comparison with the Klasik. I think the choice between those two is more of a choice between near field and mid field monitoring. I got in touch with APS before I bought them and recommended the Aeon, taking into account my room size and the fact that bands will be listening to playbacks, overdubbing bass, etc. I listened to the original Aeon and the new model side by side. Maybe it was familiarity but I much preferred the old ones. So did the people at the store where I auditioned them.

Good news. After trying 4-5 programs, Disk Drill recovered the files on the SSD with a very high rate of success. It’s also decently priced. So if anyone finds this thread in the future, give it a try. It took around 5 hours to scan the full 1TB SSD disk. The scan can be paused, saved and resumed which is nice. Then a couple hours for the restore.
As for the SD cards, the Sandisk software did a perfect job. The software is clunky but it works. First I created an image out of the cards, then run the recovery on the images saved to my hard drive.

It seems I’ll be able to recover the SSD after all, I’ll keep you posted.

I was fearing exactly that. Thanks for the investigation.
I also have an SD card to recover that might help me.

I’ll spare you the details - but it wasn’t me ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I have an SSD drive that someone just hit “format” by mistake. The data was also freshly recorded yesterday. I’m on a Mac. Do you guys have some good software that you can personally recommend? Not all is lost, I can probably reconstruct the data I need by piecing together various sources. But it would be great to simply “unformat” it.

Yes, I've decided to go for the Locomotive, whenever funds permit. I'm sure both Pro Replica and Audioscape are good matches for an LA2A, but I haven't used them.
