As someone with a lot of spring reverbs (including an AKG BX10 not shown) I’m interested to see what they have in store

Grab a two channel John Hardy M2 at a good price
Trying to sell a couple things to justify getting another synth that’s for sale here locally and this didn’t help that case

I definitely regret selling my Analog Allstar EQs.

Had to go out and get me some fresh XLR connectors (remember your dad calling those 'Cannons'?) as Neutriks are not only harder to solder but melt more easily than Switchcrafts too! Switchcraft XLRMs and XLRFs are as rare hens' teeth. Anyhow, a bunch of fresh new XLR cables made up. I ordered some Switchcraft AAA connectors recently and they easy to work with, but it looks like the price has gone up a lot...they were $3 now looks like they’re $5

Apparently I just bought a Moog Opus 3 off Reverb. Yay, more probably broken gear to fix!
I’ve been wanting these for a long time, because I love early Stereolab records. I think this, a Moog Rogue or Prodigy someday, and my Farfisa will scratch that itch

How is the gate and dynamics on the SSL plug-in?
That’s where the BX is really lacking for me. I got a bit addicted to the EQ when mixing a rock record...definitely can do that 8K boosted bright thing.

I’ve got to track down some Elma knobs and caps and replace the VU lamps, after that it’s time to pass it on to the next owner. I think I’m going to sell it as a 16 channel console and keep two channels as spares for my desk. I also only have 16 faders so...

Gibson Les Paul Jr. ‘57 Custom Shop in TV White. Owner wanted to trade for a Distressor and I thought, well sure!

I also have a beat to hell Seagull S6 that I had a friend cut a new bridge specifically for high strings. It's due for a set up but defineitely useable. The cedar body works well for this application.

Damn, sometimes I struggle to get like -13 RMS but I record a lot of acoustic music 😂
Interesting filtering below 40 and above 16. I rented a Dangerous BAX EQ and tried mixing with the 18Hz filter in and I felt like I all the body of the upright bass. And mixing into a Avalon 2055 having that 25K shelf is just magic.
Its interesting using something like Izotopes Tonal Balance Control so you can compare another mix with yours and see where the energy is and that might reveal a frequency spectrum you might be pushing too much or not enough.

View AttachmentFresh rack filler. One knob is cracked but I’m sure there’s a US source for these knobs I want a pair. Mmm. These were for sale locally but they would be an incredibly easily to build even with limited DIY experience. I’m a big fan of Colin’s stuff

There’s another one up on Reverb now for $12,000 and it’s not nearly complete as this one.
This will make a nice console for someone and hopefully will be trouble free for a long time after I’m done with it.

95% of the way there on the “stock” console. Recapped, lots of replaced parts that were missing/failed. I have two fader that aren’t working, need to track down two more, and one channel is still wonky and has a short somewhere (with the input gain at -40 it’s more like 0) Also, there’s a reason they replaced one of the original VU’s because it’s dead. So I’m going to try and take the logo out and pop it into the replacement meter so it matches.

I worked and mixed on a lot of speakers Dan mentioned, including the Atomics. I really think it depends on the size of the room and how loud you like to listen. I recently tried out the Bag End M6's and they have really nice detail, but aren't really "inspiring" if you like to crank it up. I never connected with the low end response of the ATC SCM20's, but I have SCM12's at home driven by a Bryston 4BST and have been liking them, although I know some people don't dig the bass on those either. But I listen very quiet at home...I do have a wife upstairs I'd be interested in trying them with ATC amp some day...maybe if a used one pops up for what I can get out the Bryston. I used HSM80 forever and they can take a beating. I think for the under $1000 a pair for powered speakers those or the HS8's are hard to beat. The JBL705 and 708 seem to be impressive but it seems like there are some QC issues.
I think once you get up to the 4K range, you just need to audition some stuff in your studio. Too big a hit to the wallet to take a chance.

More parts to try and get a few channels of the Auditronics console working...definitely scratching my head trying to find the culprit. I might have to have a FaceTime session with a tech to help me track down what’s going on.
Also grabbed a Crowther Hotcake V2. I haven’t plugged in an electric guitar in awhile but I’ve probably owned the original 3 different times and wanted to try this new version and got it at a great price

I think Acme Audio/Q2 are all Vintage King related brands. I bought a Compex last year from a distributor because they were discontinuing carrying the brand and it was going to be sold exclusively by Vintage King in the future (at least that’s what was explained to me)

I’m pretty sure it’s Q2, who brought back the ADR Compex

A guitar pedal makes a lot of sense to me...something like a pedal board sized Kemper where you can load amps and effects to use live.

Right now I’m working on one that’s still stock using 5534’s. The modified one is next. The ADA4898-1 is only in the control room monitor section

Testing mics on each channels I have one that’s doesn’t pass signal, and two that only work in solo mode (pre-fader), so something in the fader path is out. Now the fun really starts!

V610’s came early! Going to fire them up tomorrow. I also pulled the trigger on a RCA BK5B. They’ve been going up in price and wanted to grab one when I still could!

Hooking it up to the frame fixed it. Probably had something to do with the sense inputs like you said. Thanks for the help!
