I’m pretty sure it’s Q2, who brought back the ADR Compex

Hmm, interesting, first thought are price point comparisons to Stam plus you need a 500 chassis, wonder how parts quality lines up ?

Wow ... 2 grand to get the pre-EQ combo.... 4 grand for a stereo pair ... and 4 slots ...
The UAD Helios (which I have and like a lot on guitars) looks pretty good right now

I’m pretty sure it’s Q2, who brought back the ADR Compex Why would they release it under a different name (H2)? H2 Audio doesn't seem to have a website either. Super weird. Edit: they do have a facebook page and the contact on the facebook is related to acmeaudio.net Maybe all of these companies are the same? www.facebook.com/H2-Audio-Helios-100132408626805

I hope these guys aren't ripping off matt@IAA! Sprung to my mind almost immediately also. Matt is doing a 69, this is an 11. They aren't exactly the same TTBOMK. In any case, everyone's ripping off clonging er, paying homage to the original Helios design. And who owns the patents or design copyrights now? UA? Or are they just licensing. Al Sutton from Acme Designs, bought the designs... so he is the true owner AFAIK.

I think Acme Audio/Q2 are all Vintage King related brands. I bought a Compex last year from a distributor because they were discontinuing carrying the brand and it was going to be sold exclusively by Vintage King in the future (at least that’s what was explained to me)

I think Acme Audio/Q2 are all Vintage King related brands Or are they just all distributed through M1, which is Vintage King's distribution arm?

I assume the layouts are vastly different though, since this is split into 2 separate units.

2000 a channel is a lot of money for a 500 series, Rolling Stones truck legacy be damned

It has been in the works since Arny died.

I love Helios...they're quirky and a different sound...but that’s more than I was hoping to pay. Might not be able to resist, though.

The DIY project was a good vibes thing sent out into the world, if someone used it more power to 'em. But, I doubt they did. This doesn't look like what I put together. I think these guys own the rights to the Helios name. But, man, I guess I need to be charging more! Hahah.

How much was the retail on the Type-69-500 modules that were out a few years ago? MSRP was about 950 GBP and 1300 USD making them fully competitive price wise. The smart guys flipped them all for 100-500% profit and bought something else

Don't rly understand people being offended by the price. Lots of 500 series gear comes in at just under 1000 per module. In fact, that seems to be a very popular price target. An MA5 is 850 and an E27 is 1300.
All of the IP/manufacturer-related questions are answered in the VK vid.
I think the EQ sounds awesome in the video—and I don't really care at all about the Helios sound, its legacy, cited records, etc.

Yeah, I gotta be honest. I love Helios...they're quirky and a relatively different sound...but I just can't justify $2k per channel. How much was the retail on the Type-69-500 modules that were out a few years ago? 1325

If someone like, oh I don't know, audioscape maybe, could make a 69 pre/EQ for, oh I don't know, say $1100 a channel? Then I would definitely have 2-4 of them fairly quickly!! And you might have one too! And you . . . and you . . . and you! EVERYONE'S GETTING A HELIOS 69!!
