I'm using the RCA's in mine. Tried the Phillips but went right back to the RCA's. Much nicer I think.

Wait - you talking about the heritage 1073 500's or the retro double wides? Well, I've owned both. Didn't particularly care for the double wides. I was talking about the 2 space Heritage with eq.

In love with the RTZs. Easily the best of the best to my old ears. I guess the RTZ is considered in the Neve family but they are more hi def than Neves. Got this nice little accentuating thing going on in the high mids. Makes recording easy. Engage the HPF and boom, done if you place the mic right. The Heritage has more weight and heft, also a nice thing sometimes. Get both and live happily ever after!

Weird. "Harsh" and "Gritty" are not words I'd ever associate with my EZ-1073's. Sozo - try em for yourself. That's the only real way to know. Your probably right, maybe a poor choice of words. Can't think of a better way to describe the difference though. They don't sound alike to me. In the same ballpark but different.

I think I saw on the site they usually go for around 2.5k Don. Looks like a lot of craftsmanship goes into them.

The output attenuation is probably not an issue if your looking for drive. I felt the AML was always a bit on the gritty side. The eq sounds nice which is a bonus. I also felt the AML was a little harsher in the high mids. That's not a bad thing though. Could be just what your looking for on a particular track. Both great amps but if I had to choose, I'd choose Heritage. Which I guess I did because I sold the AML and kept the Heritage.
But I'd sell it too. Bought the RTZs and haven't looked back!

You should check out Charles Whitfill guitars, John. Amazing player guitars that sound fantastic. He is from Kentucky and makes it into Nashville quite a lot. R What part of Ky is he from Randy? I've seen these on the net before but didn't realize he was here in KY.

How much will the regular price be? I confirm the price of 328 USD shipping with international registered mail and paypal fees included just for another one. Pier Paolo I think he was pricing them at 390 for the first units. These sound really good. A smart buy IMO.

Yeah there's an easier way. Hook the Ross Martin up by the SPIDF cable. Then you can use it standalone tethered to the Apollo. This is the way I have mine. Then in Audio/Midi setup on the Mac, select output channels 19 and 20 (which are Apollo's SPIDF outs. Boom, system sounds and all go through the RM and you can toggle back and forth in your daw without switching devises. See screenshot That's exactly how I have it set up...I'm saying it sounds different in when running in USB mode than it does when it's using the Burl clock via spdif - and you can only do either-or Ahh. I misunderstood then. Everything I've tried sounds better to me clocked off the Burl. I'm convinced the Burl's clock is superior to many others which is probably one of the biggest reasons it sounds so good. To me anyway. The Symphony even sounds better clocked off the Burl.

it helps to write out a mix plan before you do a single thing. What/how much instrumentation, position and panning/field depth/precedent of each element. Once you get that laid out everything else flows easier imo. I kinna do this. Don't write it out, (don't even take notes in meetings like I should ), but I do this in my mind before I start.
