I sold my redd47 to help fund the mic but then got cold feet and had to flip a few other things to get a redd47 back.
file under "gear you recently let go of then instantly felt remorse and reacquired as soon as possible"
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

im also mulling over a digital verb to compliment my akg spring. holding out till namm to see if Bricasti comes through with their less expensive model. if it even has a few presets close to the big models plates or chambers id be stoked.

pretty nice. Im sure the pre-delay knob will be on the imminent Big Plate version. Been experimenting with the Abbey Road plates and really digging them so this will probably just chill in the menu for awhile.

I record mine dry from the stock speaker, typically with a coles 4038. Then use fx in the mix. using a reamp I was sending it to the strymon lex pedal which worked great. gave me a "dry" and "wet" to blend. I recently got a Cordovox (vibratone) but the footswitch isn't responding. Once I sort that out I will send the reamp line to that and mic it up. jcoutu1, congrats, how's she play?

sold my pair of 500 series Moog delays which im sure ill regret in the future. for now echoboy and my echoplex are doing all I need. I am now totally 500 series-less. about 2 years ago I had 12 modules. holding these funds for a big addition. a big tube eq addition. I love my MOOG 500 delays, they’ve stopped making them due to lack of bucket brigade chip availability; the new chips don’t cut it. Those little delays have amazing vibe, damn. Yeah im sure ill regret that move eventually. I used them everyday as a main delay aux. On vocals they are pure fudge. Maybe they will make another stand alone that doesn't need a lunchbox. After I sold them I got the minifooger pedal and its surprising similar.

Yes mine looks just like the bottom pic. Also, if you’re lucky the oil will still be twist tied to a wire in the back. Most I have seen still had the original oil syringe. There’s plenty of info online to dig into but basically there are 3 little caps that need to be refreshed once a year or so. There’s a few places who sell the real stuff too. Luckily mine just needed a good dusting. Also before you move it be sure to lock it down so the internals don’t rock. Suggest doing some reading on that topic too. No biggie just a few bolts to tighten.

I consider myself lucky to have worked with a lot of hip hop. the thing is like all genres there are sub-genres. Could be Cardi-ish or could be the next Tribe Called Quest. I gravitate toward the latter. Big difference in terms of message, sonics and production value.

main thing is persistence and patience in the search for these goodies. most my keys were free to cheap due to whatever circumstance occurred. my Rhodes was misspelled as Rodes and listed at $200. It was only up for 30 minutes when I saw it and I was the first person to respond. I had been waiting for a good deal for over a year.
I was all set to pay $150 for my Farfisa Compact but when I arrived the guy said "I cant get it to play, just take it." Got it home and it was fine.
grab a Hammond M3. They are usually cheap and plentiful. Great sound. I paid $100 for mine and it was like new from the 50s.

Yah I’d go for it. Sure the money could be spent elsewhere but those opportunities could be any old day. It’s not often that this opportunity comes.

Yah they look the same but the windtech claims to be made in the usa. Interesting. Spock, that looks like a sponge on a stand. Very curious about it though. Yeah sponge Like is a good way to describe it, very effective in that it stayed out of the way. Very cool, might give it a whirl next time I’m in need.

I’ll definitely use it in mono drum. But not for ambiance. Most my productions are only 1 or 2 mics on drums. It would be the primary sound of the kit in my case. Also vocals for sure and bass & guitar cab I imagine would be glorious. Still looking around for shit to add to the for sale pile haha.

Man, I'm looking at 4 mics I am willing to part with in order to get it. Unfortunately it only gets me about half way there. Good start anyhow.

Thanks Joseph. These are actually the heaviest they make I believe. But I figured if the bass is supposed to be 58 then it should handle strings that are supposed to be from 54. There are many great reviews of them.
Im going to take a stab at it this evening.
How did it go? Ah I still haven't done it. Got tied up the last few weeks wrapping up a project. Im thinking I will have a pro do it this time around. Hopefully this weekend. Very anxious to hear the results.

ive been lucky enough to work with many chandler gears and even own a few. poor build quality is not something I would ever associate with them. mind blowing sound quality is. as far as the cost, well look at where its being made and who its being made by. feels good to support them. it could very well be my own grandma soldering those connections. check out this video:

ive been using an antelope for about a year. the sound is good. the i/o is great. the software is meh. support is ok. their online presence on the other site has some drama around it. speculation of phony accounts etc... not sure i would buy again but i think one benefit to their onslaught of products is that it may cause some of the other brands to consider more feature-packed products.

I used a pair of these with a solid-core door on top to hold me over until I found that custom job. I ended up downsizing from the console before that custom opportunity ever came along. they did the job though. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ZStdDidn't even occur to me that I could use a pair. Genius. cool, yeah I had them spaced enough to allow a chair to sit between. good thing is since I decided to sell my mixer I still use the stands. one is holding a synth and the other has my bigger guitar fx like spring tank, echoplex etc...
