Picking up a new (to me) board for the new studio tonight. It's about 65" long. Is there some standard stand out there for these things? Do I need to build being? keymod, you built yours right?

There are some stands for smaller boards out there but the best solution is useually custom/DIY. With large boards there is just to much variable in height and depth.

Know anyone that can weld? Everybody knows a guy but good welders make good money, the trick is patience. Being willing to wait till Buisness is slow can save you big bucks.

Yes, I built my racks, as well as the desk the console sits on. I still have plans to do a pull-out drawer on the console for my controller. I am glad you found the Midas and your new space. Exciting, isn't it? Good luck with it all. I'm sure you will do well.

Do you have an Ikea around?
I bought a desk for my computer, but I'm thinking of changing out the desk I built for my mixer with one as well. There's no shelf for monitors though..

I bought some heavy dutylegs for a desk that I mounted a piece of plywood to, Perfect for the DDA, to high for the Status! IKEA is great, but I wouldn't trust most of their stuff with the weight of a large console. Check out your local Office furniture recycler, you can find some great deals that are built for a heavy load, also consider mounting the supports directly to the boards frame, when I was using the smaller 34 module DDA frame before I found the larger frame I had the legs mounted directly to the frame, might be a pain with a non modular board like the Verona, but with a modular frame it looks like the legs were a factory item. The legs I have are an H frame for extra stability I have considered a pipe brace between the 2 sets of legs using I think they are called Key Clamps? We used them for building pipe structures in the theatre!

I used a pair of these with a solid-core door on top to hold me over until I found that custom job. I ended up downsizing from the console before that custom opportunity ever came along. they did the job though. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ZStd

Genius. cool, yeah I had them spaced enough to allow a chair to sit between. good thing is since I decided to sell my mixer I still use the stands. one is holding a synth and the other has my bigger guitar fx like spring tank, echoplex etc...

Yeah the problem with generic weight capacity is what kind of safety margin? Where is the load? How is it distributed? I, after years of rigging where 5x 7x or even 10x the load is the safety factor and everything is mil-spec and has documentation, have become very very skeptical of generic load ratings!
