it was stated in the moto 16 thread here and the moto rep never disputed it ? I think I read it elsewhere too ? ok. validated via hearsay and conjecture, got it. edit: realgearonline.com/post/38992they're using the "ESS Sabre32 Ultra 8-channel converters" Apogee uses the stereo pair chips (2in-2-out)

There used to be a thread about changing the tempo of a project, and now it's gone. someone made a comment about how to do it in Logic via Flex time and i'm trying to find it but I can't. Somethin' like set a track to Flex Time, and then set the beginning and end points for the track, then change the track tempo?
if anyone knows, can you reiterate the procedure?

a lot of earbuds have a surprisingly full range to them. my cheap $6 samsung earbuds sound pretty great to me, mainly because they seal really well. they sound better than my closed-back headphones (Sennheiser HD280s), but not as good as my HD650s or Focals. I think it's important to remember that most people are most likely to listen via earbuds(gym, walking around, kids), 2nd most likely via car stereo(commuters), 3rd is probably built-in computer speakers, and finally every other type of speaker(shopping, construction dudes using a boombox, dudes with home studios, etc) bringing up the rear.
Have you tried buying a pair of cheap earbuds (find some that seal well) and listened to your mixes or mixes of your favorite tunes on it? Ain't nothin' wrong with grabbing a 1/8"-1/4" adapter and plugging some earbuds into the headphone jack of your interface for a couple minutes while working on a tune!

the wife and I are starting the process of looking to purchase a home (we rent now in a pre-war 60-unit building). If we wanted a house in the neighborhood we rent in now, we'd need 750K+ which is ridiculous, cuz those houses are TINY! it's lookin' like New Jersey, Long Island or CT, but it's a struggle because she's tied to her job location (some building right on top of grand central station) and commuting from those locations is rough. CT would be cool because she could just take MetroNorth direct to her office, but CT is at least 1-1.5 hours away from everything in the city, and that monthly metroNorth ticket from CT to Grand Central is like $300, almost $480 depending how far out you go!!

if it's an actual interface, and not just a converter, it'll probably take over as long as the drivers and zero-latency mixer app are top notch.

I think you gotta set up all the flex time stuff first before you change tempo. Including adding all the flex markers every 8th or 16th note or however it works. I never mess with it, so i cant say for certain.
In reality, you should rerecord everything tho at the new tempo. It'll sound better than some time-stretched/shrunk region

I couldn't help myself and during a very brief Q&A session I asked him if I stuck a camera on top of the turntable lid after setting the camera's self-timer for one minute, then had him start the record would I end up with a photograph of the recording studio where the record was made? I had to re-read this like 4 times for it to make sense. that's pretty funny!! it's a shame they kicked you out tho lol

dude, just use Symbolic Links to put it on Drive 2 and skip all that other nonsense about installing El Capitan. Install logic normally on your main drive with all libraries. then drag all the libraries to your other drive. finally, set up symbolic links where those libraries used to exist, and be done :-)

have you considered buying a separate enclosure and drive from newegg/pricewatch? i would never shop for computer equipment at an Audio retailer.
you should know that all of those brands you named all of seagate/WD/Toshiba/HGST drives (possibly unlabeled) on the inside. Enclosures rarely fail, but drives do. So, research the best/most reliable drives, buy those, and stick 'em in a cheap enclosure.

It better be for $7,400.00 list. I'd love to hear a before/after with the Latte on and then off the Master Bus. I would too. I'll bet it's stunning. The thing with these ultra high end boxes is that they're built and designed by music makers who are looking for the same things we are in sound. And when they find it, they know they found it and price it likewise. I wouldn't give away the golden goose either. If I found a golden goose, you'd have to pay a lot for it. How do great boxes like svarts or ross martins figure into this? They're extremely cheap in cost by comparison yet sound great. The obvious tradeoff is that you cant get em cuz they aren't made in large quantity...

you should always handle business before getting creative. I personally would not have played a note, without first discussing the idea with them. You're asking for them to turn around and say "hey, that sounds great, but we never asked for it, and can't pay you for it. can you just call it a part of the job of mixing?"
You should ask them if they are hiring you as "producer" or as "engineer/producer" or "engineer", and get it in writing.

Just found this.. ..and used the Groove Track feature to align some BVs to a Lead Vocal track in Logic X. Worked instantaneously and like a charm. I've got to play with it more to see if there's a way to loosen things up if it's too tight in places. Certainly, moving the track a few MS is one possibility, but nudging flex markers here and there could do the trick as well.

I don't think apple would buy Avid. If they did, they would have two competing pieces of software under their umbrella: ProTools and Logic/Mainstage. Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro.
I'm trying to think of who else might consider scooping up Avid, should Avid go up for sale. Behringer could. what about Mackie? are they big enough? What about Google or Adobe? What's Avid's current value? $300 million?
