I press the link from iPhone 7plus on mobile RGO, link does nothing. I switched to the desktop version of RGO and when I pressed the link it kept trying to open up Soundcloud on the iTunes Store as an app which I already have installed. I then tried to copy your link into SoundCloud and it was not valid... I will try again

Cool product release.. Oliver redesign is highly respected.. Has anyone ever shot out these mics against original 47's? I am not trying to nitpick just asking? I truly hope this product is a successful for you Stam. I also hope that each and every component is built / assembled with pride paying attention to detail 😀 oh yeah hope they ship on time as well
More questions : Where is the mic body head and grille made? Are they from the AMI kit? They look similar.. I do know when I looked at the AMI t47 mic kit with Blue Line and it was around $1000-$1100 and still needed to be built.
Re: SA87 We are in May has anyone received their SA87 that we're shipping in March? Maybe I missed the thread? How are they sounding and comparing to other mics ( and 87's obviously 😀 ) Has anyone used theirs to record stuff they can post?

Hey guys recently found out about these new monitors from genelec.. they seem to be little brothers of the amazing 8351 3 way coaxial design that has garnered lots of praise from users. I believe they have also won a few awards for their design .... 8341 www.genelec.com/node/18678331 www.genelec.com/studio-monitors/sam-coaxial-studio-monitors/8331-sam-studio-monitor8431 specs ---- +/- 1.5 Db at 45 hz , -6 Db at 38 Hz and 37 kHz 😳 For both analog and digital inputs ---- 2x Oval Woofers 6 5/8 x 3 1/2 inch + Coaxial Midrange/Tweeter MDC™ 3 ½ / 3/4 inch + DCW™ ---- Woofer 250 W + Midrange 150 W + Tweeter 150 W 8331 specs ---- 45 Hz - 37 kHz (-6 dB) same as 8341, so they say... I assume 45hz is the resonant frequency, or at least usable bass measured after roll off of ---- +/- 1.5 dB (58 Hz - 20 kHz) accurate measurement ---- Oval Woofers 5 1/8 x 2 5/8 inch + Coaxial Midrange/Tweeter MDC™ 3 ½ / 3/4 inch + DCW™ ---- Amplifier powerWoofer 72 W + Midrange 36 W + Tweeter 36 W Funny how it takes triple the wattage on the 8341 wattage to gain 6 Db 😀 Just like car audio amps and gaining Db's 😫😀 I have not seen pricing released yet in USA or Europe...

SDC (84) off 12th fret, LDC (87) over the R shoulder pointing down towards sound hole. Best of both worlds!!!! Esp. if you have a Martin, and I think you do..... Yeah, a D-28 Authentic...which I just put two nice dents in above the sound hole. Awesome. That's the way I've been stereo miking. 84 on the 12th and Upton shoulder looking down...sounds great. But for mono, I'm not sure I wouldn't go with the Upton... I am so happy you are still loving your Upton 😀😎

How is this compared to the slate? Ya kinda wondering the same ... for the $ you can rent Slate's whole plugin package for a year ... does anyone know if slate still gives you a voucher to own a plug of your choice after the year of subscribing?

This may sound weird but an Re20 or a Sennheiser md421 has worked wonders before on stage for live singing/ recording except the md421 is awkward to sing into on stage for some. However the md421 is an amazing drum mic that can be used on various placements on the kit IME... it features a bass roll off or proximity effect filter that can remove LF buildup in studio or live setting.. Off topic: .Speaking of Miktek... I think they are great mics for the price! I have used CV4 / CV3 / C7 / C7e / C1 with great results. I still want a CV4...then I want to take take my Thiersch Blue Line M7 and install it into the CV4.. I hope its plug n play and I don't have to change the circuit or electronics to accommodate the Thiersch.. ( I hope not that's more expense ) ... Johnkenn did you ever try Blue Line in your CV4? The original capsule had some zing in the 9-10khz IME/ IMO , I think the Blue Line would take this mic into Flea territory

Love that technically this mic shootout is flawed 😎😫 but plastered all over GS and the interwebs .... The Chandler mic is a serious contender. I would much rather have a pair of Chandler Redd Mics or a Chandler and a Upton / MicRehab251 than a cloned reissue telefunken 47 for $10,000 anyday of the week that ends in Y... 😀😎 waiting on more info from users like roundbadge ( or any other members who have used this mic ) but seeing as he is testing Barefoot mm26 he is probably busy 😀 Chandler Redd Mic users shouteth your professed love for this coveted piece of musical wizardry 😎

Y'now, sometimes debate is interesting, sometimes I get insight regarding things I was unaware of, and sometimes the vitriol gets so off putting I promise myself never to get caught up in it again. That said, I don't care what facts or figures people present or why's and wherefore's, and why "I'm wrong", vinyl feels much better to me, whatever the reason, there's something going on that we may not be able to fully explain yet. I'd guess that digital, no matter how high the resolution inherently is missing parts of the whole picture, and I think we sense it somehow. I also get that a digitally recorded album put onto vinyl can only present what it gets, not add anything, and still, albums I've heard on vinyl that were done digitally still sounded better to me. I can't say exactly why, but they do. Idk, Sounds like you need to go direct from vinyl from logic Pro from here on out to achieve the sonic wizardry you love 😀😃

Ambient led strip lighting for the studio... comes with remote and can be programmed with patterns and color combos 😱😎 All about the vibe baby What did you get? I'm looking for something like that with a remote. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01L1OROYS?psc=1I recommend these and have purchased this same product. 16.4 ft on each roll, remote works and has lots of different options for the light patterns as well as colors.. I used little plastic almost like little picture frame L clips instead of the tape on the roll to mount/fastened. I ordered connectors as well so I can splice the led roll and use the connector to make corners and right angles easier and make custom shapes...

It certainly doesn't help my "I want the damn Chandler mic" problem. Man, the Upton and the Chandler mic would be a crazy duo... plus would cover dam near anything and everything you could think to record when paired with your km84 or gefell .... sorry I'm not helping .... however the Upton must stay as well... That's an " and " Upton and Chandler 🤗😀

To many differences in that takes I heard for a real world comparison... But this is actually more like a real world comparison (note, I haven't watched yet). If I'm doing a shootout in my studio with a singer, I'll grab 2 or 3 mics that I think should work, have the singer sing into each, and make a decision. If a take totally blows, we'll give it another go, but it's never really more than 2 takes of a couple lines on each mic before moving on. That's the nature of the beast. As for using a speaker, I assume that's how War/ZenPro runs the files for his clipilator. When you listen / watch you will maybe you understand where I'm coming from... some of the takes are not keeper takes and especially not sang well enough to judge the character/ quality of a mic against the rest as a whole ... of course this is all my opinion 😎 Edit : plus I would hate to eliminate the " best " mic because of a bad take when warming up / prepping for the session... I prefer using 2 mics and have one mic upside down directly over the upright mic and I do my best to align the capsules... I really feel there is no one perfect method to going about this. As long as they aren't singing into a rock even the worse mic choice for a particular singer will still give me enough to work with in a mix 😫😎

As donr pointed out the fella is all over the place as the takes start to pile up...
Would a full range speaker be able to direct the sound at the capsule if positioned correctly? Interesting experiment... Would we then have to factor in the speaker's frequency response? I agree that there has to be a better way than multiple different takes...

First off I'm glad the mic sounds so glorious! Second I am sorry to hear that you have those issues with the mic. This is me and I am not a skilled mic tech however I would not touch that mic even with a written contract saying you can and won't void warranty...I would send it back immediately and get a new one... A $4500 mic should not have a capsule installed and misaligned.. Also QC with the shock mount is something you would expect with sub $500 dollar mics... What concerns me is they are shipping this mic with a known problem with the shock mount... I understand the sound quality is great however how are you hearing the true representation of the capsule if it is not installed correctly? I sincerely hope you the best with your mic and a positive timely outcome... I really hope Chandler LTD corrects this known shock mount problem and replaces free of charge to all customers affected... I wonder how many others customers capsules are installed incorrectly and the don't know... Never thought Chandler a company to slack on QC and manufacturing/ assembly... Damn, dude. I don't think Chandler is this big suit and tie corporation pumping out pieces of an assembly line. Dudes are hand-making this stuff. I had the power switch go bad on my RS124. I wrote them and explained the situation. Offered to put it in myself and save me some coin on shipping this piece back and forth for a 10 minute fix. No problem! It's just the nature of boutique gear. You'll have this stuff from time to time. I have no doubts that this will get squared away. Damn what? Your opinion differs from mine? No big deal, no need for that man 😀 I have no doubt Chandler will make this right, I have always heard them to be a top notch stand up company.. I was giving my opinion and advice... If this was your mic I would write and feel the same.. You deserve better for $4500... I would hate for you, Cortland, myself, or any RGO member to add two washers to their shock mount thinking this is a solution and in turn our mic falls out of the shock mount and damages it further.. Secondly, I am not a mic tech and I would not feel comfortably doing any type of capsule dis-assembly and remounting on a $4500 mic. I should not have to even question the build... If you feel comfortable doing that type of capsule work on the mic that's cool 😎 If you are ok with buying a hand built boutique mic with the capsule misaligned for $4500 that's your money and prerogative, I would still give the advice i did... Third, It's a known problem with the shock mount design however Chandler continues to keep selling this mic with a malfunctioning shock mount..... why not find include a 3 rd party rycote or other until you can ship out the tested re done Chandler designed shock mount... Have a good day
