Don't sell the STA to get the Bricasti... If you can save up while getting By with the LS Seventh Heaven i recommend that... Also in that time period see how tracking / mixing without the STA goes. If after working say a month without the STA and having equal results i would then think of selling...

Is that a heiserman capsule? Is a hk47? Have you used any of his capsules?

There was a couple threads on GS but at the time I believe Blue was a big contribution / donator to GS so they banned/ heavily censored the threads... I will look to some info on these Blue hjack jobs... The blue 47 is a 47 style capsule with a ef800/ ef86 tube so different circuit.. To quote David Bock" he's correct the bottle has the same circuit as their 47 D.Bock I got a reply on PSW..........here's what David said.... I'm sure i've posted this before, but here goes: the differences between the blue47 and an original are: different capsule (does not sound the same in the bass) different tube type different amplification system (active plate load not simple resistor, sounds different-lowers noise but changes distortion charachteristics) different tube bias system (changes dynamic response) completely different transformer (different laminations and it's not a four section winding like the original, of course, will sound different) nice film caps on the output (unlike the original, these aren't as non-linear as the originals but the output caps on most of those fifty year old U47's should be changed to film by now anyway) different tube mounting system (affects handling noise & non-linear distortions) completely different power sypply (will sound different than original circuit, but theirs is ok so it's a matter of taste regarding your personal preference) that's it regards David Bock" www.gearslutz.com/board/high-end/20928-blue-u47-2.htmlSorry to post a GS hyperlink JK... in that thread " Nobtwiddler " who is a member here at RGO says he has one and it's nice... many others in the thread disagree... Some paid $5000-$6000 for this blue mic yikes....

Re: Capsule Production: Hand made/ Pricing/ Quality:
If Eric can do 10 Production worthy hk47's in one month ( if everything works perfect and he is capable of 10 ) it looks like September before the first 50 capsules are ready for the 50 pre orders already taken... Stam just posted that he is ordering the components.... Then Stam has to build each unit. Also, this doesn't factor in any delays with parts suppliers which unfortunately has happened before for him and us customers...
Re: Stam Mic quality - Files - Recordings - Comparisons? Has anyone received a Stam 87 yet? How do they sound compared to an original / new or even a diff mic ? I have searched and searched and there is not one video or sound files other than what Stam has provided...

Have you tried the SS 73 vs your heritage preamps? Have you shout out Don classics 73 with Vintage Neve or Heritae or Bae?

I'll also give a big up to the Stam 1073 with the Sowters. But as far as acoustics, I keep going back to the CAPI VP28 L's for the little extra sparkle. How long did it take to get the Stam pre... ( I know you got yours pretty quickly before others who had pre ordered ) I am eager to see how the new product releases stick to their delivery date. If Stam can improve on waits and delays and also keep his word to me I would have nonoroblem investing into more of his products 😀😎

It's amazing how much info I added to this thread that was glossed over 😂😂😂 Love my limiters and love my music loud but not painful.... 😫😎👍 I feel learning how to mix a loud track before limiting is the key to having a loud mix ... one or two limiters can aid but it's not an answer or solution to " getting loud and punchy "

A $300 increase? What is the reason for the price jump?
Good luck with this product, from the feedback from other well respected members, this seems to be the most challenging product to release so far.. Hope it is positive for you, seems like a huge undertaking 😎✌️

Oh no the divide keeps getting bigger! Wonder if we can get our leaders to push a FFTA (Finnish Free Trade Agreement?) I've read some things that the 8431 might be the sweet spot - nearly the specs of the 8531 with more powerful amps and more filters for the GLM room correction software (both the 8331 and 8431 have the same which is more than the 8531) Come to think of it my friend Anja is Finnish hmmm.... Why would they put more powerful amps in a smaller monitor Package ? Wouldn't that cannibalize the sales of the bigger 8351?

mrholmes That would violate their dealer / distributor agreements more than likely if they were to sell direct to " whoever owns a studio " ... would be cool to work on these monitors... I am very intrigued by the design 😎

I am speaking about pricing of the 8351 monitors, they are $8600 regularly in USA, however VK has a sale on them currently from $4300 a piece to $3900 a piece... In Europe the same genelec 8351 monitors are anywhere from €2600-€3000.... €2900 = $3170 €5800 = $6340 VK listing = $4275.00 dropped to $3875.00 = $8550 sale for $7750 $8550 - $6340 = $2210 difference in price... this was my point... 😎😀 Ahh didn't realize the 8351's were on "sale" - looks like they're "blowing them out" to make room for the new models HA!!!! Haha such a great discount they are offering 😉😂 The 8341 & 8331 are little brother / sister to the 8351... The 8351 has been something I have wanted to work on and hear for awhile but have not had the opportunity... I am shocked that the Us regular price is $2210 more than Europe .. Wonder what the import tax would be on them 😂... I also saw them for €2650 brand new a piece so that's even cheaper than what I used in my math example...

This is a huge bummer. Hope he can find the tubes, at least for mine. Haha Good luck man hope you get lucky and a great build... if you do go for this go for the Thiersch capsule ( I prefer blue line ) ( pvc membrane )

I invited the IG user to RGO and asked if it was a new piece or germ comps... I thought it was a one off 33609 maybe however I know Chandler already makes a 2254/ 33609 mono comp... Guess the colors got me 😩😂 I knew you guys would know more about Chandler gear than me... all germ comps I used had the same meters but bright blue faceplates and bright bright bright yellow knobs 😂

sll Thiersch Blue line is the pvc membrane based capsule and the red line is Mylar... again thank you for the concise info, very appreciated, $1100 is no small coin for me. Let alone to pay that much for headaches and troubleshooting... I am not as skilled as most regarding DIY so paying a tech would also be an expense of mine for this situation and something I had not thought of til now... This thread and a few others have made me appreciate the miktek cv4 even more... dandeurlooWow even more great info.. man I really love this place 👍😀 Bowie doesn't test the tubes he sales or he wasn't able to test this particular tube for this circuit ? I have heard Bowie is the gold standard tube guru 😀 So for him to have trouble speaks to this tube...

Good to put huge import taxes on goods from Europe... Maybe you are being sarcastic? 😀 I feel if the genelec 8351 were competitively priced in the USA as they are in Europe way more people in the USA would sing their praises... Always hear that the Genelec room software is amazing, so if one is purchasing a pair to go with a set that offers this functionality...

I think Dan got his going. We certainly had a lot of trouble with those tubes. I did the matched ones from England as well and still had trouble. They sound great when working, but were too unreliable for me. Also, the noise floor was too high for anything critical. Sorry to hear of your troubles, this is exactly what I don't want to deal with.. Was this is the same build or circuit configuration you are discussing ( two tube setup ?) Which capsule did you go with ? Have you heard a Heiserman capsule by chance? Anyone re: Heiserman capsule? If these capsules are so great why do I only hear about them employed in DIY/ cloning? Any links to comparison audio files against similar capsule or even a different capsule and build just to get a ball park ? ( heiserman 47 cap vs kk47 for ex )

Post Sennheiser designed Neumanns don't sound as good as pre-Sennheiser designed Neumanns. What year did Sennheiser purchase Neumann? Have heard that the older ai's are the better designed ones ( maybe pre 2000 ) and after sometime the design and components changed, then changed again in 2011... Also Klaus Heyne speaks to the quality of the kk87/870/kk67 capsule and how the performance has changed for the better and the worse throughout the years depending on who was building/ assembling them... Not sure where the capsule quality stands right now

Use the hs8 and they are great for the price however, don't be fooled by the room.. the room takes learning just like monitors, even when well treated 😎 Have heard great reviews regarding the msp7 monitors. When I auditioned them against the hs8 there was a clear winner for me for the genres I work in... Rap, Trap, Hip-Hop, Mumble Rap, Pop, RnB, EDMTrap etc ... Now the hs8 have taken some time to learn however for me in my room they were a better balanced monitor that are pretty revealing and make you work... Not sure if saying this is a good thing but the hs8 remind me of an almost full range active ns-10 😳😩 yup I said it... These Yammy monitors make you work however I have no issues with translation the last two years ( had them 4 ) and recently have been crushing mixes & masters with in 2-3 prints 😀😎 and of course I'm looking to f*** that Up by getting new monitors ... Oh yeah the msp7 would need a more full range monitor to accompany them for mastering duties IMO. Also they don't go as loud as hs8... The msp7 has great mids/ hmf/ and highs... the hs8 are a little sharp at first, once broken in they are not as pesky in the HF... nick8801

How is AMI quality since Oliver ( RIP ) has passed ? That's what put me off from buying the kit and just modding the st77 I had.. Can anyone speak to the quality or have a song or files recorded with a heiserman capsule? The blue line capsule is pricey but so is the heiserman and I have never heard a heiserman capsule. Use Thiersch Blue and Red regularly with amazing results on most voices ( blue line cap / upgraded circuit / fet m7 mic ) and have used Red Line in females with great results... ( red line cap/ upgraded electronics/ fet m7 / sounds like a mix between 87/c12 ) Is this confirmed the same body / head basket as the group DIY project? How do the DIY community feel? 😀 I thought their projects were for the community by the community ( not for manufacture / retail ) I think it's cool Stam can offer this as a ready built product... idk if it would cheaper buying the kit, sourcing capsule, and paying tech to build.. I imagine not... jeremygillespieThanks for your real world experience. I know a $1000 current production mic will never be a U47 due to the parts/ components being extinct ( m7/ vf14m/ vf14/ original output tx )... I also don't feel like you posts were off putting, felt they were informative based on your experience using said mics, 😀😎👍 jcoutu1 you could buy the kit and blue line capsule yourself and pay a tech and have the mic a lot quicker if time is of the essence.... of course Stam version maybe cheaper / different depending on kit + capsule + components.. without using either build I am not saying one or the other is a better quality, I'm sure they both are very capable mics 😎

Ok so I switched to desktop again and had to press and hold the link, then got to copy it and open it in SC and am listening now 😫😀 I kept trying to just click on the link and every time I did it went to open up the App Store... So weird probably my phone or iOS ..
You got some crazy vocal panning going on man lol
