Not sure if you tried this, mcirish, but if it's just on the louder/higher sections, you may find it helpful to cut those sections from the main vocal track, paste them into a new track, and do the extreme EQ treatment there. That way, you can avoid the extreme cuts on most of the vocal track. Just a thought. You can also automate the EQ on and off. At least in PT you can. I’d assume you can do the same in other DAWS.

I’m confused. I thought I just read that you WANT banjo. Are you feeling okay? Flu season is going a little long this year I guess.

If you setup a template with your plugin settings how you want hem, you could then do the “Import Session Data” option. Go through the menus and have it pull in channel plugins and settings. It might take some fiddling but once you figure it out it’s a quick way to get started. Especially if you tend to have your tracks with the same names etc from session to session.

I meant if he wants he can send a unit up and I can put it through it’s paces. We have a Yamaha grand with a built in midi player so I can set 1 mic up and record the same passage on his and on each of our 4 V76’s. A midi controlled grand piano in your room....? that gets me thinking. It’s pretty great. Sometimes I’ve had to mess about with the velocities but it works quite well. If you want to send me some midi sometime I can toss it out to the piano, mic it up etc and send you back a file.

...and to be honest, I think he was asking if Stam would send his v76 to test against the originals, not send his originals to Stam. (there is either a "me" or "you" missing in that sentence) I meant if he wants he can send a unit up and I can put it through it’s paces. We have a Yamaha grand with a built in midi player so I can set 1 mic up and record the same passage on his and on each of our 4 V76’s.

We’ve got 4 originals. Want to send one up for a comparison?

D vs V comp , what is the actual sonic differences between these two? D is “drum comp” and is a stereo bus comp much like a Zener. V is a “vocal comp” and is to be like a Sta Level. At least that’s what I’ve surmised.

I see some guy in the TG Mic thread on GS slagged on me having a barking dog. Probably somebody I banned here. Maybe he’s a cat kind of guy...

When I feel it coming on I hit the Alka Seltzer Cold and Flu. I use the old school fizzy tabs you put in a glass of water. It usually gets rid of that gross feeling in 2 days or so.
When I’ve gotten the ear blockage thing, usually means a trip to the doc for antibiotics. I hate taking that stuff but sometimes it’s the only way. I once was being stubborn and couldn’t hear out of my right ear for close to a month before the doc found something that opened it up. And I gotta say it was :gross: when it finally cut loose!

Camila emailed me yesterday morning saying that she would send me a tracking number later in the day and DHL would pick up my package this morning. ...still no tracking. We'll see what happens today. Not looking good. Wonder if my Stamchild will ship in March as promised... I applaud your vision for a stand up comedy career!

All he needs to do is take a pic of 10 people sitting in front of the chassis and stufffing components into the boards and soldering them. That would put a lot of folks at ease.
Quick video of the production team?
How has he not thought of this? I don’t get it.

I say that becuase its REALLY thin front to back and not with a modern graphite rod. Not a good combo for the railroad ties that are traditional flats. Yanked my 62ri out over time. You need more wood or a graphite rod. I mean if he really wants to try the railroad ties....he could look it up, its possible theres graphite in there. I don’t know man, I’ve had flats on my 62ri P for something like 15 years and I’ve never had to mess with my truss rod at all. I haven’t heard of this problem - maybe you had a lemon?

If you hung in the Villiage in the 2000’s none of this is at all shocking. Dude needs some serious help - I thought he had gotten it years ago when he cleaned up his act. I guess not...

It will get delivered, might have different jacks than when you ordered but by that time you will probably have forgotten all about it. Wow is it really THAT bad ? My bus comp showed up with TRS jacks instead of XLR like it was supposed to be when I ordered. Left and right were also out of phase with each other. How THAT can pass inspection blew my mind.

Figure out what you want to buy. Make sure it’s a “need” and not a “want”. Take the cost of said piece of gear and triple it. When you have that amount saved up, take 1/3 of it and buy the gear. The other 2/3’s goes into your savings or retirement fund.
Enjoy your new gear and thank me in 40 years.

Another reason I am enjoying Harrison mixbus is that it automatically categorizes my plugins which makes it easier to find what I am looking for. It can be divided up into equalizers, Dynamics, Etc PT has done this forever

I just can’t imagine taking orders for a product before building the prototype. I’d have to actually see a video of the guts and it passing audio next to a real deal vintage unit before ordering anything. The promise of “exact replica” doesn’t pass muster if you haven’t even built it yet...

No type of guitar player uses his volume pedal more or relies on it as heavily as a pedal steel player. And the choice of most professional steel players is a Goodrich. They're not cheap but they work like a dream and they're as indestructible as a Sherman tank.
I'm not sure if Guitar Center carries Goodrich - it might be too high end for them.
I’ve got a Goodrich for playing Steel, and yes I agree they are the best. However - the newer Ernie Ball ones are a serious step up from what they were 10 years ago or so. I wouldn’t turn my nose up at one if I was in a pinch.

I’d suggest not editing drums with Elastic Audio. It does horrid things to cymbals.
Learn beat detective. Once you understand how it works you’ll know how far off you can allow things to be while tracking and have it still work with BD.

The curve you can get on an SSL EQ while boosting the top and cutting it back with the low pass filter is pretty awesome. Huge mistake to not offer that as part of the eq IMO

Sounds good to me. Just a new direction I guess. Anything that's different than that 80's chorus'ed out guitar thing he had going for a while sounds great to me.
I'm not so sure the vocal is as processed as you guys think it is. He has impeccable mic technique. The type of dude that can rule the roost with a single mic on his guitar and vocal.

The 760’s are great comps - I personally think a pair of Pye comps are the golden egg. Love those things and wish I could justify purchasing a pair. I use the Dolby trick a ton for BGV’s and it works wonderfully. I believe they have plugs for that now which I’ve been meaning to try out but haven’t gotten around to it. would the waves kramer helios and pie plugs be a good substitude for the hw? Not even close unfortunately.
