Here's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to put Waves NLS on every channel. I can CTRL-OPT click and have it insert on every channel with cascading channel presets on every channel (SSL 1, 2, 3, 4 etc...) But I want the Neve - not the SSL. The default is the SSL when you select the NLS plug. Is there a way to select just one instance and THEN cascade it from there? It's just such a PITA to cascade them, then open each up, select Neve and then pull the drive up...

Hold the option key and drag it to where you want it.

Hold the option key and drag it to where you want it. 56 times? That’s what I’m trying to avoid.

Do what you're doing (cascade on every channel) then open one of the plugins VCA windows - since all of the instances default to group one, change Group 1 from INDV to NEVO and they'll all change but keep their assignments (SPIKE 1 becomes NEVO 1 etc.) Ah! Ok thanks! I’ll try.

If you setup a template with your plugin settings how you want hem, you could then do the “Import Session Data” option. Go through the menus and have it pull in channel plugins and settings. It might take some fiddling but once you figure it out it’s a quick way to get started. Especially if you tend to have your tracks with the same names etc from session to session.

I do that...but sometimes that takes longer than just doing it new. Like, I’m not going to import snare, hh, toms, oh etc, drag the plugs over and then have to delete...lots of steps. I have a main template for stuff like busses and masters...and if I have a session of five songs, I’ll import vocals because they were sang at the same time. I usually import my template tracks into the session because I don’t want to lose any I formation that might be in the session, I.e., markers. But maybe I should try it the other way around. Channel presets have also caused me to use session data import less too. I can usually create a drumbus with preset quicker than importing session data.

Call up an instance of NLS and set to NEVE. Save this as 'NEVE init" or whatever you like. choose 'set as user default' Set Plug-in Default > 'to User Default'

Hmm. Neither way allows me to both cascade AND save the drive settings...

I'm not sure that I'm understanding then.
If you set the plugin to NEVE and then save that as your default state, any instance of the plugin that you pull up, whether cascading or not, should show up in that state. Am I missing some part of your workflow?
