thanks for all the feedback. my site is on Squarespace (doh) so I'm not sure if I can use any code I want. Their default audio player only works at 128 mp3.
Maybe Youtube would be the best bet.

Soundcloud sounds really terrible. I don't recommend it at all. I wrote an article comparing it, I will post it soon. cool. what do you recommend? what does the article compare it to?
I did find a newer site called Clyp that allows you 320 mp3s rather than soundclouds 128.

I would like to stream before/after mixes from my website. Are you guys using anything other than Soundcloud? I would really prefer to have them streaming rather than downloadable but of course I would like the highest quality possible. Tough thing to Google.

last year I sent them a friendly email about remaking the Langevin 252. Matt was intrigued but said he was already working on an EQ of a similar design. all I found as far as details is this message from last August:
"We're using some elements of the Langevin and some elements of the old Universal Audio 508 EQ, plus some coloration tweaks, tape saturation emulation, and the 'glow' circuit from the D864"

I'll throw my vote at 2 bus eq and comp. Not sure how bad I 'need' it but the gas remains. So many interesting options. I've also been waiting on pins and needles for the Dizengoff EQ. Not much info out yet but I love my preamps and d864. Hopefully it will be out soon.

I recently got an ep-2 echoplex and yes it is very special. my other delays are el capistan and the 500 series moog delay. while I like the bbd and digital pedal the echoplex is just so much more in your face. the word 'uncompromising' comes to mind. I hope to come across a space echo one day. ive heard good things about the multivox and the dynacord tape echoes as well.

i would go for it as long as the price is friendly. if you don't like it I'm sure you can sell it for the same price and walk away being certain that it was or wasn't for you. one sold on Reverb recently for 1500 I think. it did not have the remote either. I feel with a rare, hard to relocate piece like this the location has some say in the price. for instance one in the mid-west would sell for less than one in los angeles. the Reverb sale was in san fran if I remember correctly. I missed out on an bx-10 recently and was sorta devastated. I love reverb.

i like the dbx 560. use them all the time. at the price I recommend getting a pair. id really like to get the AML 1073 in the rack next. using the preamp to track and the eq at mix makes it seem like two-for-one. maybe next year.

I've bought so many Monoprice cables I've lost count. I haven't had any problems yet. And yes, you're better off to buy direct from the Monoprice site. Yes definitely order from the site. Off topic but if you need a flatscreen mount they have the absolute best deals out there.

I use a lot of monoprice cables along with my home grown mogamis. they are actually pretty stout. I had a few proco patch cables crash and burn faster than the monoprice. the monoprice cables are a perfect fit for cheap patchbays (joke)

So you could have 8 Samson bays fail before the cost of the $1k patchbay is justified...? I have been using 3 Samsons every day for 4 years and have never had crosstalk, drop outs or bad contact. did I just get lucky or what?

This year I tried the 666, pl9, RE55, and a Mojave FET. None of them really kept my attention. I think my 666 was defective because the output was very low. As the year closes I currently have a Coles 4038 and 4035, a Royer and a few 57s. I sold off the sm7 last summer too because I wanted to try a condenser on vocals. As of now I still haven't replaced it. The WA87 looks cool though. I also have a very old mic that was found in my grandfather's garage after he passed away. Its a tiny dynamic with a 1/4" plug on the end. It doesn't sound good but I'll always keep it. No one has a clue as to why he would have a microphone so its a mysterious thing. The SM7B is a mic I miss a lot. I sold it mainly because of the form factor. It's not a good handheld mic, and I don't want a whole lot of mic stands around me while I'm working in my limited space. The M88TG and the various smaller Shure mics do better for me there. I do really miss how well that mic generally sounded, though. I wonder if the new KSM8 would be in any way a similar experience, but in a handheld package. Another one I look at is the Heil PR35. Mysteries for another day.
I think I just grew bored of the sm7. It worked but after awhile I found it to be a bit dull. I wanted to replace with a condenser in hopes of capturing more detail. Ironically a lot of the vocalists I was recording hit blocks around that same time and I haven't had to cut vocals for awhile. Im pretty close to pulling the trigger on the wa87 and see what it can do.

I have tried quite a few springs. Not the one in question but... I ended up sticking with the Master Room 305 and the Fisher Space Expander. The Master Room has a lot going for it in terms of eq and vibe. Its very smooth and 'dark' if you will. Something magical about that one for me. I keep it on my mixer's aux line. The Space Expander is just plain fun. I love it on percussion like clave and well, just about anything where you want the spring to be a bit more obvious. If and when I come across an AKG locally she will be mine. Thanks! Darn, I saw a well priced Master Room not too long ago that I let slip. Now the only one I see is about $1,200! I guess that is only $600 per channel, but is it worth that price to you? Anyone else have any recommendations, or know anything about the Innersound? I'd love to have a spring verb for vocals, keys, guitars, aux percussion, etc.
I would not pay that much. In fact I keep an eye on them in case I can grab a cheap spare and that $1200 unit has been up for a long time. I think it actually started at $1500 which is 'flower pot guy' crazy talk. I paid $650 for mine on auction. That was 3 years ago. Most recent sales are around the same price. I can say that if mine ever went down I would find another as soon as possible. It really works for my style of music. A friend has the AKG BX-5 and its really good too. Has adjustable decay time which the Master Room lacks.

I actually enjoy the 305s but I heard the 308 at a friends house and they seemed much more effortless, not just louder. The 305 make me lean forward to pick out the detail so I've been looking to upgrade for awhile. I know they are cheap but worked better for me than the Yamaha I had previously. Hopefully I will find the 4328 'better' with or without the room correction. The price was too good to resist and I am not quite ready to take the Amphion etc.. leap. I like the LSR4328P better than pretty much everything around, including Amphion. They are easier to work on, and they translate extremely well once you learn them. I also have the sub, and it's just great with the speakers. No more guesswork. that's great to hear. thanks for your input.
