be advised that Bricasti intends to release a "more affordable analog rock and roll Reverb/delay" at the next namm. although I know I will eventually get the big dawg I'm also excited to see what this new model has to offer.

Look like germ comps with a photo filter. However, Wade told me about a few things at Namm that have me preparing my wallet for later this year. Do tell Sorry but after he told me he immediately had that 'whoops' look on his face and I promised I wouldn't tell. He did say October AES so that's not too long to wait. He's such a enthusiastic/genuine dude that I think he just got excited and made an honest mistake. Looking forward to October.

My Limitless demo expired this week. I will definitely be buying this weekend. Thanks to Roundbadge for yet another solid recommendation.

my 2011 MacBook has the same problems. sounds like a helicopter when rendering audio or video. can only work for a couple solid hours before it starts to skip on playback. oddly enough the fan runs hardest when the screensaver animation is happening. i'm waiting on the new imac. if it ends up sucking then I really don't know.

Finally scored this reverb. I missed out on it several times over the last few years. The last of which was by minutes and I got so angry I really had to stop and check myself. Just as I was figuring on letting it go there it was. Sounds amazing. Great Reverb. I've had mine for years. A client gave it to me not even knowing what it was. When I first got it I mixed a rock group as if they were playing in the old High School gym. Ah I knew it. When I was at your studio and asked about fx you got a crazy look in your eye haha knew you had some gems hiding out. Hope you're well.

The buzz is because you have ground loops. Fix those, and hum is gone. Having a patch bay is a LOT more than plugging stuff into the back of it and starting patching. The grounding of all your gear, the interconnects, the ground scheme of the patch bay and the AC in your studio all play into the grand scheme of "noise" or "no noise" - do it right, do it once. Noise-b-gone. cool. soooooo, any tips on where to begin for the fixing? with my outboard it was basically just as easy as plugging stuff into the back and start patching. if I could get these instrument levels to work the same it would be swell. I have a Fender reissue reverb and a tube Echoplex that I do not want to lift the ground on because I like living. Hmmm...

I recently tried to put all my guitar effects, keyboards and two amps at a patchbay and the result was ground hum louder than the signal. I just wanted to create custom chains on the fly and not have my vintage pieces running in bypass at all times when not in effect. I used decent quality ts cables throughout and they were all the same make. removing the patchbay from the equation solved the problem but I really dug the possibilities. anyone know why the buzzzzz ?

I thought I would use the ST's stuff more than I do...I love decapitator...sometimes use Echoboy... I hear ya John. I bought the bundle at full price years ago and found that I was really only using echoboy. sold it and bought echoboy alone on sale. Now im thinking of the two I mentioned as more usable in the arsenal. Also they were not in the original bundle I bought so I haven't tried them yet.

i just saw that soundtoys plug ins are 1/2 off at the moment. figured I would spread the word. Im thinking about picking up the devil loc and radiator. anyone using either of these? for 59$ each I guess its worth a shot. Echoboy is life.

sold my ARP, a guitar, a API 550B and a kidney to hop on the moog model d price drop. oy vey. Very nice, I am finally getting an MS-20 Mini today, after years on the fence. That moog looks good at $3K. Congrats! I had one and it was fun to use. I went from Minibrute to MS-20 to Arp Odyssey and now to the Moog. Its been a blast. I predict I will stick with the Moog for a long time.

Cool song and killer performance. Not in the studio to give an opinion on the mix but the car is definitely the bleach test for me too. I was listening to the Jack White Tapeop podcast and he described a method where he is sitting in a car listening and instructing the mixer in real-time on walkie-talkies. Ha!

When recording others vox I always use dynamic or condenser but for my own productions I use the Coles 4038 for EVERYTHING. Before that it was a Royer 121 on everything and it really surprised me on bass amp. It's the only element that I miss the Royer on. Lately been going DI rather than amps.
The Coles especially shines on single-mic or overhead drum recordings and percussion parts. So natural and almost never needs any notch EQ.

I grabbed an Origin about a month back when I was in a bind. Went to pick up a wa87 for a session the following day and they were sold out. so the sales dude talked me into trying it out. it was female hip hop vox and it worked well but I returned it for store credit until the wa87 is in stock. not a super exciting tale but I did admire the build quality and sound was good into the Antelope stock preamp. it does seem like a low price but if you consider it doesn't come with the typical price inflators (shock mount, case, cable etc) then it makes sense. it is threaded for a stand on the bottom which was nifty. the artist was pleased with the recording. supposed to pick up the 87 next weekend.

An OTB flow for the last 3 years. One of my Warm eqs is in the shop and the bottom 4U were being reserved for the Dizengoff eqs. The other side of my brain has been drafting a purge that would make it a more hybrid situation with 2 heavy-duty channel strips, a few nice fx and a simple mix bus enhancer. Maybe begin that change at the end of this year. The Argosy Halo looks like a good fit for my future plans. Anyone using one? I can't emphasize this enough don't waste the $$ on Argosy! Find a local cabinet builder sit down show him what you really want, you will save money, get something designed for you that probably is better built as well! Yeah I actually already got quotes from two people. The first one was based on a similar design and was $300 more than the Halo. The second guy I showed the exact Halo desk to him and he quoted $2000. $500 more than the Halo!
