I'm really wanting a really nice Martin...D28 Marquis...I've got that Gibson J45 that everybody's saying not to sell, but man, that Marquis definitely sounds better. It's $4500 and my GC Pro guy could get me out the door at $3600...Unfortunately, I'm about $3k short Chandler TG2 500...totally need it like a hole in my head. U67 - ain't gonna happen. 335/SG/Nice Les Paul.

Uh,what am I NOT gassing for?
If I suddenly had $10 grand fall into my lap (as opposed to the opposite happening due to the d-vorce) Id be sporting a Purple 10 space rack with a pair of Capi pres, the Serpent LA3s (pair) and the Kush Electa eqs. Unless I went all Awtac for the pre/eq/comp. Then a pair of filters - maybe Brad's Chop shops, and the last two spaces either more eq or a different flavor of comps.
And if I had anything leftover a 335 and/or LP Special and/or a nice OO/OOO/OM acoustic - Collings, Bourgeois. Proulx etc. etc.
A cheap little 88 weighted key pianner wouldn't suck either.
And I say all this knowing having a decent room, better conversion and monitors would make a far bigger difference than all of the above. That stuff is more fun though.
Cheers, Geoff

The problem is - even if I had all that stuff - I'd still want more. Welcome to addiction.

Hmm maybe a Retro Double Wide and a pair of RND 542s. But I guess the thing I'm mostly wanting is that mic body so I can finally finish my U67 clone

I'm lusting to move from our big house (kids have moved out) and move to a small house with a big barn where I could gradually (when finances allow) build a new studio. Both my wife and I would use it for rehearsals, one section as workshop for my wife's painting, big enough room for a big band, 5-6 meter ceiling, a fireplace and a cozy sofa set for nice after work beer and chat. Oh boy...

A barn as you describe would be awesome.

Hey Geoff (and tonycamp too!), I'm honored that you are gassing for some Chop Shops. I have some good news for you. We are having a big weekend sale on Chop Shops to celebrate the incessant IED detonations that will be occurring across the street. The price is kind of stupidly low, but my brother was feeling generous. Brad
