So, I've got some really, really great pedals (Strymon stuff, EHX MMTT1100, fuzz, etc) and I thought it would be fun to patch some in and see what crazy sounds I can get going. I know that I can't just simply run the signal straight out of my DAW to the pedal and back. Anyone doing this? What are you using? I just saw this: www.dspdoctor.com/home/1027-amtec-audio-lli-5a-low-level-interface.html, but man, I don't want to spend that kind of dough. Is there something I can just DIY?

Look for a used Radial EXTC. I think that's the standard.

Dag, that's more than the Amtec. Anything that doesn't eat up a 500 slot? If I'm gonna do a Strymon, I'm gonna need a pair for stereo, so the price is no bueno. There's got to be something that I can just build.

Nothing else required.

Nothing else required. Right. I actually contacted them a couple of years ago, and they told me the same thing. I never could get it to work right. I think I needed to amp the returns back through a pre, which I never did. I also have a Catlinbread Belle Epoch which would be fun to get crazy with and "play" the delay, and also a EHXMMTT1100 that sounds super sweet. So these kits could be useful for those. If I can get the Strymon stuff to work then I might not need a pair of them, as they are my only stereo pedals.

I have not been brave enough to try it yet, even though I really should. I have all the setup for it, too. And Vance Powell did it in that great video. I'll try to get on it ASAP.
