Honeywell 9000 ? Wi-Fi enabled, with lots of scheduling options but no range of temp as Jayson is hoping for. I have two of these in my house and plan on getting two more. The Android app works great on my Samsung phone.

So what I'm hearing is could be great with a nice small conventional mixer and a Monitor controller! What I'd like is a unit that has no preamps or EQ, but with channel inputs and outputs, channel inserts, busses with inserts and AUX sends/returns. That way you could track with hardware and mix with hardware. And yes, a good monitor section as well. Speck LiLo

Jayson, you're describing something like a high and low limit on a boiler or a pressure switch on a well pump, but I've not seen anything that does what you're looking for on a furnace. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist though. You might have to wire a secondary device in line with a Tstat in order to do what you want.

Thanks jcoutu1 I never tire of learning from others. And I certainly have learned a couple of things from your posts. We meet way too many dismissive people in the music business who think they can learn nothing from someone else. I'm grateful there might not even be one person like that here on this forum! (I believe Johnkenn booted out the one who was like that) I wish Jesse could be a permanent fixture at my place and I'd be happy to simply watch him work.

I ordered a burrito, but I hear that the red tacos taste better than the blue ones. What we really should have is a red, white and blue menu item.

That thing is such a cool unit I hope you get it up and running properly. Tascam should never have stopped production but they should have updated and upgraded. It really could have evolved into something great.

Unless slate is actually paying bricasti for the rights to copy their intellectual property, how is this any different then someone stealing parts of your song and claiming it as their own? This is not simply directed at slate because this "borrowing" happens all the time. But certainly the M7 has not entered the public domain yet. Fwiw, I do not own an M7 but wish I did

I used to own a Hammond M3 and it always picked up a French Canadian radio station from ten o'clock in the evening on. Funny, never any earlier.

If I hadn't just spent 2200 for repairs to my van, I would be buying an ADK laptop Which is already specced out and waiting for my order.

I'm going to be doing a build in about a year. What is the twisted 10ga cable you used in the walls? Anything special going on in your panel? I have not had the opportunity or funding to try twisted power cable myself. As I recall, I read about it in a white paper from Jensen Transformers, but don't remember which one or the absolute context. AFAIK, you'd have to apply the twist yourself, I don't know of any supplier for it as a commercial product. When doing building wiring (I've done a couple of nightclubs and small theaters) my preference is #12 or #10 stranded wire in hard conduit. What John Said. If I were building from scratch, it would be Electrical Metallic Tubing between each and every outlet box, starting at the source. Run minimum #12 THHN between outlet boxes, with an extra ground wire. I wouldn't think of twisting but, if you do, it will be harder to pull through the conduit so install a much larger conduit than usually needed. To twist, you can leave the rolls of THHN on a payout reel system, group and tape the ends together and attach to the chuck of a battery-powered drill. Using as slow a speed as reasonable, start the drill and pull the wire off of the reels to the lengths you need. Be careful not to damage the insulation on the wire.

Had a nice visit from our own Jesse Cotou yesterday. Still a lot to do here, but Jesse brought some files and was able to pull up a really great mix. The guy's got talent....

Wunder Audio? Very Expensive, but very nice, and very expensive. The Wunder is one of the most beautiful desks ever built. I also love the RND 5088. Simply beautiful.

Update, Fall 2016: This summer was a wash as far as time spent in the studio. Busy with day gig and whatever time I had available to work on the house was spent on exterior repairs and infrastructure. My son disappeared and I'm doing everything on my own again. Getting closer though. Some of the non-glamourous stuff that needed doing: the powder room in the studio needed a new sink/vanity and toilet, as well as a paint job. I avoid painting at all costs. I also had the floor re-done to match the floor in the foyer, which it is adjacent to. I also finally finished the studio lounge with barn-board paneling, tongue & groove cedar ceiling and new sink and cabinets at the kitchenette. This place is going to be very comfortable to work in. Only thing left in there is to repair/replace the treads on the spiral stair. Once that is finished, it's on to repairing all of the cut microphone tie-lines.

I paid 800 for mine several years ago and I still feel that was a bargain, so 200 is a steal.
