Thanks for posting this. The A/C unit in my house is very loud as the air passes through the ductwork. Ringing is a big problem - one particular zone is acting like a pipe organ. A lot is exposed in the basement and attic and this product is something I am going to try. Thankfully, the HVAC in the studio is very quiet and I have no need for this there.

With that mic, that pre, that reverb, and mostly that playing - it was instant righteousness. That made my afternoon, man. Agreed.

This is one more reason I need to get five VP28 for the sidecar which I can never seem to finish. All it takes is budget of time and money, neither of which I have at the moment......

I can't see anyone under 40 giving up Youtube and Google John. It's a great thought, I just don't think it could ever happen. I would bet most of us here would find it almost impossible to avoid at least using google in our day-to-day lives, even if unbeknownst to us. They are insidious and their tentacles reach everywhere. I very rarely visit youtube except to look up instructional videos regarding gear or software, but google can hardly be avoided. Even if I use Yahoo or Bing , et al , somehow google finds a way to insert itself.

I had an interesting situation the other night at dinner before going to the Kansas concert at Ridgefield Playhouse here in Connecticut. ( hope to see Donr there in September ) It was myself, a blue-collar tradesman struggling with ever-increasing insurance costs. Second, my childhood friend who became a very successful Pulmonary Specialist who laughs all the way to the bank while complaining of ever-increasing insurance regulations.Third was his Insurance Agent friend who was complaining about being unable to make a decent living anymore due to the ACA. I wish we had had more time to get involved in a deeper discussion about the subject. Meanwhile, I was sipping tap water while they were ordering $160.00 bottles of wine.

I wish I could spring for a Silver Bullet but the renovation of my place is just leaving me with zero gear budget.

Whatever country you live in, if you have any sort of pension or retirement plan based on the stock markets of the world, you just lost a huge chunk of your future. I doubt that the losses will ever be made up and fear that more losses will follow as other countries Ponder exiting the EU as well. There is already a movement started in France which they are calling Frexit, if what I read is true.

It really shouldn't matter with modern equipment that uses properly designed power supplies. Svart seems to be the resident guru here on RGO with regards to this sort of thing. Hopefully he will chime in.

In the old days of two-prong, non-grounded receptacles it was possible to plug in a two-prong power cord "backwards" and everything would still work, although at an increased possibility for a shock hazard. This was because "hot" would be on everything that was supposed to be "neutral", and vice-versa. There was nothing on the receptacle or the power cords to designate direction or polarity. You can see this on old guitar amps. Sometimes flipping the cord cap in the receptacles would minimize noise/hum. After a while devices were manufactured "double-insulated" to reduce that shock hazard. Also, as time went on, receptacles were manufactured with one slot larger than the other and the plugs on the power cords were designed to match. The larger slot designates the "neutral" current-carrying conductor while the small slot designates the "hot" current-carrying conductor. And of course, at some point in time, a grounding pin was added which results in the modern three-pin receptacles and cord caps that are in use today, at least here in the United States. But be aware - just because a receptacle has a grounding pin does not mean that that point of utilization is properly grounded! It should be noted that "neutral" and "hot" are NOT THE SAME as positive and negative. This is a common misconception. There is usually more line "noise" on the neutral than on the hot. This is because all of the return current throughout the premises is picking up garbage as it flows throughout all of the various circuits throughout the building. All of the neutrals are tied together at the service panels and this tends to amplify all of the line noise. ( this is a very, very simplistic explanation ) We've all heard that our audio power source should not be on the same circuit/phase/leg/etc. as florescent lighting or lighting with dimmers or appliances such as refrigerators and the like. So, with regards to audio equipment, if it's possible to plug in a device "backwards"- as described above - , then it's possible that that device can pick up more line noise and not operate as efficiently or quietly as designed. I think this is what is being alluded to on page 8 of the user guide. However, they are using the term "phase" erroneously. And, if the premise wiring is correct, with a properly installed three-prong receptacle, this should be a non-issue anyway because their device is manufactured with a three-prong IEC power connection which (should) make it impossible to be plugged in and powered incorrectly. Basically, what they are saying is make sure your point of utilization is wired correctly.

Two step process : Through the board to an Otari MTR12, half-inch two track. Then from the Otari through the UA2192 digitally into a Tascam DVR1000 Hi Keymod, What difference are you hearing by using the UA as the clock for the Tascam when printing ? I have a DVR 1000 - i love the DA, but the AD to me loses some sub range.. I have only ever used the clock in my Radar24 as the master, with the 2192 as a distribution clock. Works well that way, and I haven't felt anything is lacking.

It does sound wonderful but yes, takes a lot of time. I tried it a couple of times in my old situation and vowed I would use it when I get the new place up and running, at least for any of my own stuff or things that aren't on a budget.

drive.google.com/open?id=0B2Vufcp_M6yuMGh5bDd3UEFmTW8Did that work for bigger photos? I have been wanting to schedule some sort of RGO open house once the place is at the point where visitors can see/hear the results of the renovation. Realistically, that may not be until mid/late summer. I closed on the property July 31st last year, and it would be cool if I could be up and running on the first anniversary but that may be a long shot. Thankfully, I have been very busy with my electrical work ( have to pay for all of this some how ) so I haven't been able to devote as much time to the studio as I would like. Of course, that would be full-time, LOL. Perhaps the somewhat local ( Northeast ? ) RGO people could chime in and keep this in mind. The people I can think of that are within driving distance: Jesse Charles Chuck Martin Kevin There is a nice B&B within walking distance. I will introduce myself to them at some point to find out rates and availability in case anyone wants to make a small vacation out of their visit.

Third time was the charm. Guy showed, totally professional. In the glass business for forty years and has even done several corporate studios, as well as quiet glass installs in corporate environments. He mentioned a type of glass with a thick plastic laminate that is being used in sound mitigation. So now I am waiting on a cost estimate.
