I'm thinking very seriously of switching over to PC and keeping everything offline. Anyone had experience with the new platform yet? Issues etc. Thanks.

Lots on UA forum: seems to be working great!

My ADK computer, which is a couple years old, has tbolt. I would be interested to know if it would work. But,only on Win 10?

Windows 10 has true thunderbolt drivers. People have reported the ability to use prior thunderbolt cards in their windows 10 computers, and also on windows 7.. if you or a friend has a thunderbolt Apollo, see if you can borrow that for a day and try it out, no harm no foul. I would definitely recommend testing ANY windows setup with thunderbolt without purchasing, unless you like dealing with the hassle of returning things. If all else fails, MOTU 16A has been even with a symphony on shootouts (from what I've read on the purple site), but those UAD plugs... I just want that near zero latency karma!

Although there are lots of great interfaces out there, the rub is, you only get the low latency with ua plugs while tracking with an Apollo

oh certainly, sorry if I misunderstood your comment, I thought it was the ua plug low latency you were interested in

I've tried my Apollo Twin TB with a couple of Windows 10 systems now: - Self-built desktop PC with ASUS Z170-A motherboard, TB3 expansion card, and Startech TB1/2-TB3 adapter.
- Dell XPS 15 laptop with TB3/USB-C port.
In both cases it works flawlessly. The Apollo is recognized without hassle and the performance has been 100% stable (no pops, clicks, dropouts, etc.)!

There's been no need to keep windows off the internet for over a decade.

I am very happy to report that Apollo Thunderbolt apparently "just works" on my Windows 10 machine with a Gigabyte thunderbolt 2 motherboard.
I haven't recorded with it but it's playing back audio just fine. After I installed the UAD drivers, windows detected a Thunderbolt device and automatically downloaded the thunderbolt drivers.
I'm pretty excited, I've been trying to get this going for several months now unsucessfully, tried to build a Hackintosh, didn't work out. So glad I get to have my cake and now eat it too. I no longer feel like I'm missing out on the full Apollo experience. The only thing I need now is a second Apollo to double my channel count.
Tracking with plugins is really starting to work for me. My favorite thing to lately is to record "to tape" by putting Oxide across all my inputs.

Do you know proaudiostar in nyc has b stock sale that includes the new free satellite ?
Cat5 posted this at ua forum:
"Proaudiostar.com has UA Factory Refurbs for $1749 for Apollo8 Quad (cheaper if you call Mick and ask nicely) and they DO qualify for the free satellite, per UA support.
Sell the Satellite and you have an Apollo for about $1000 or less. Keep it and have 8 dsps. Win/Win."

Very happy to have my Apollo working on my studio rig finally. And it's working on an older ASUS Z87 Deluxe Dual MB that only has thunderbolt 1 ports. I updated Win 10 x64 to the Anniversary Update, installed the updated Intel Thunderbolt Drivers, and hooked up my silverface Apollo and it's working flawlessly. It's nice to have console 2.0 finally. Thanks UA
