I'm so with you on this. I'm like this for all of my stuff. I hate wasting my life clicking on things. this is the exact reason I bought ez drummer. because it was so damn complicated to do other cooler stuff, and practically nobody cares outside of these forums "how real" the drums sound. superior drummer is legit too, but even then it's too many steps from idea to mastering I really like EZ drummer for many reasons, use it often.

And whilst a real LA3a (or 4) is the bomb for tracking guitars (electric, acoustic) they can do so much more too. Great for harder edged vocals when you wish to control the dynamics but retain the edginess. Hopefully, a plugin would emulate all the qualities of a real one. My Waves software LA3a emulators do not really succeed in achieving this. But they still do pretty good work. I end up with the waves la3a on a guitar and/or bass nearly every mix. I try a bunch of others but that one just works. I need to get me a serpent kit but i already have too many projects on my plate. Yep, The Waves version usually wins for gtrs.

I'll jump on any train that's hatin' on Kontakt. I'll even take a great big FU NI in general after our brief interaction over OSX hardware compatibility earlier this year. But, I also have never needed multiple outputs.... I like NI products, I just refuse to use any of the drumkits included in Komplete(or use any Kontakt 3rd party drums) because it's so hokey to route into DAW.

I wish Kontakts multi-outputs included a few more steps for setup with any DAW. For example, drum routing takes me about an hr and I think a few more required steps should be added increasing this to more like an hr. 20 min. Geesh.. I want to be unmotivated and all interest lost by the time I have a basic drumset routed into DAW. Who's with me?

I think an LA-3A for guitar and synth duties would really round out the everything bundle. I just realized this reminds me of a movie quote, "but that rug really tied the room together man"

Thanks lcr. c4 seems to get a lot of love online. When you treat guitars are you using it on a group buss or individual tracks. I got to use ozone briefly and was impressed. Whatever is needed. Not to avoid the question but It's always different.

I haven't tried soothe. Does soothe do freq spec compression. I use Waves C4 to tame cymbals in overheads when needed. Often just a single band, bypassing the other bands. Also to control the bottom end of a bass or kick and the sometimes bitey 2-4k region of guitars.

Wiz, sorry for the delay in getting to this. I worked on the mix and laid down some Hammond today. I'm working on a solo. I'm also going to had a harmony on the chorus. I should have something later this week. Any chance you could share the additional tracks? Im having fun mixing this.

I really like some of the Positive Grid Bias FX stuff. Their crunch stuff is the most convincing to me. Nothing wrong with Amplitube 4 either I need to try Bias. How well does it do mild to moderate breakup?

I have the Slate VCS ( Virtual Chair Seat ) it`s 95% as good as the Areon. VCS Pro's: 1 never wears out 2 many instances 3 easy travel, just pack up the ilok 4 native VCS Con's: 1 if subscription lapses chair is immediately bypassed 2 ilok 3 if ilok's server takes a $&@& chair is immediately bypassed

Whats even more confusing for me is I didnt get the email.. If you log into your Avid acct (not the Avid app thing) do you have an option for a $99 upgrade to PT12?

If I remember correctly, I had the option to upgrade for a yr without some of the plugins until dec 31st for $99.. Do I need to install the Avid app manager to upgrade for this price?

I came from Cubase (for production only) and I really like Studio One. I have ... Cubase 6. I wish I did the $49 upgrade back in the day to 6.5. Although version 8(PRO!) seems interesting. Not gonna hate, but Cubase 7 didnt look like something I wanted to use. Im gonna demo Studio One V3 and Cubase 8(PRO!) and pick one. Always exciting to see a new DAW version drop, it improves all DAWs because of competion.

Nope. They released a screenshot and said its gonna be released soon. The Presonus employee said nothing else can be discussed at this time. It's on "that other website". The gui looks a little slicker. I really hope they add mono in/out and mono in/stereo out fx channels. And no subscription.
