Capitol was an indi until 1955 when they were acquired by EMI and the Tower was built. Monument was another important indie. An important bit of history to understand is that according to Wall Street in the mid '50s records, movies and radio were all supposed to be replaced by television. In response the majors dropped every artist they didn't think would be a TV star. A lot of people quit the majors and started indi labels and distributorships. Fans started dedicated record stores. Dot, Elektra, Motown and Atlantic all started that way. Chess and Roulette were started by club owners. This sounds like a fantastic movie theme, and something I wasn't aware of.

Hello Steven! I guess you can't make everyone happy, I own and use many of your plug-ins. Recently the subscription was such a good deal I jumped on the yearly subscription. I thought the video of the new products was very well done. Im sure the new products will be a hit. May I ask a few questions?
1) will SSD5 feature any type of tap to find feature similiar to EZ drummer? I find this a fantastic feature.
2) any plans for a LA-3A in the virtual rack?
Sorry to discuss other products for a moment I appreciate any info in advance and keep rocking and rolling!

Cookie Monster vocals. That is so precise. I like many styles of music, however the Cookie Monster vocals I just can't listen to. Many people like it, I don't think it's lack of melody, it's because to me it sounds like it really hurts and is a bummer. That's just me, enjoy your cookie monster vocals.

No Neumanns, Telefunkens, CAPI, Neve or Helios under the tree. Christmas is about giving, I'll send you my address.

If my latest little project goes as planned and becomes part of the workflow, I would like to pickup a 4 ch. instrument snake. Either straight to straight or straight to right angle. Any suggestions? Something decent that doesnt cost a mint?

Favorites": 2203 and 2204. AKA 1977-79 Marshall Mark 2 Master Volume series with the cascaded gain option or mod. I don't even see why on Earth Marshall even made another amp design afterwards. It does EVERYTHING. What Ward said, 2203. I will add one piece of info.. 2203.

I think hi-Z guitar cables are more effected by cable and connector quality than mic or line level. Maybe Im completely wrong, which is often the case, I can hear a drastic difference in guitar tone swapping cables, not as drastic with everything else.

Not that Kemper needs a commercial..but remember in the Brady Bunch movie when Mike answers the phone "yes, yes, hmm.. let me get this straight.. your telling me you can run a single cable into my home and I get 13 channels of crystal clear television? Mike Brady wasnt born yesterday..".

I find in all ITB amp sims a lack of realistic sustain. Thats really where they all fall short. Noticable with chords but more noticable with leads/single note parts.

No amp sims sound as good as the Axe FX Ultra I had years ago, and most people feel the Kemper is better than the Axe FX, or at least as good if not better. A few questions for anyone who's owned/used the Kemper : 1) Im not interested in the powered one, should I go with the toaster looking one or the rackmount? Doesnt the toaster have a few more faceplate control knobs? Thats the only difference? 2) I assume the footswitch is super cool? It gives you the looper? 3) does the Kemper cover bass also? I assume it does, but while Im asking... 4) any rumors of a new version being released soon? 5) spidif or analog? 6) will it magically make my playing better? Less sloppy, better song writing? Will my mixes always have that super duper polished radio ready sound? 1) Yes, the toaster has more knobs...but the rack also has the USB on the front which I find really convenient...I've had both. I like that the toaster is easily movable. 2) don't know much about the foot switch 3) yes, tons of bass profiles. It was depressing when I could get as good if not better a sound through the Kemper as going direct into my Neve and sta. 4) They don't really have any need of updating the hardware. 5) Analog sounds better to me 6) I'll tell you this. I was building tracks in the last few few days. Was struggling with eg's. Just nothing sounded good. Broke down and bought the Kemper again and immediately nailed 4 EG parts. I used to say that one of my complaints with the Kemper is that it can be paralysis by analysis...but now I think that's a positive. You can literally nail ANY sound you can dream of. Thanks for the feedback. So, which would you go with the toaster or the rack? It has its own GUI controller right? Do you use the GUI? The faceplate controls? Both?

Dunlop is so yesterday. You need Planet Waves "Shiny and Moist" for Apple Music level polishing. Thank you for this! That's why all of my mixes sound dated!

So I have the option to route and store a preset for all of the drums included with Komplete, I understand this. Any other drums in a can this step is not required. You do have to route on the DAW side, but not the additional 4,879 steps required with Kontakt. Why not already have a factory Preset? Do they feel I need to put in more of an effort?
