I have a request of my RGO brethren. I was recently approached by a Pastor of a local church here in Cincinnati who I know and have worked with many times in the past on several audio projects. He asked me to produce a paid project for the church. The project is for a family who has a terminally ill child who's name is Daniel. Daniel is 5 years old and isn't expected to live much more than a couple of weeks. He was born with a rare degenerative disease. His parents were told when he was first born that he wouldn't live to see his first birthday but he has proven to be a fighter. Very sadly though, he is now close to the end barring another miracle. I'm told, perhaps only a couple of weeks so time is against us.
His mother wrote a poem and asked the Pastor to set it to music so that it could be played at his memorial and for them to have something to hang on to once Daniel passes. This production has been passed to me to complete. I wouldn't accept any compensation for it because I feel very honored to be able to do something for this child and his family. It seems such a little thing in light of their struggle but hopefully something that may offer some comfort for them.
I told my Pastor friend that I had an idea about asking some of you guys to lend a voice to this project as I have heard many of your productions and I know the quality of musicianship that we have here. He was very excited at the prospect of many adding a voice to this and he knew as I do that it would mean so much to this family to know that musicians around the world cared enough to lay down a track on this.
So I'm asking anyone who will to give a voice to this project in honor of this boy. Anything that you feel is your strong suit, please feel free to add it. I will post a link to a work file that I was given tonight to get it started. I'll be adding a fiddle part but I'd like your help on the rest. I could do it all myself but when I thought of doing it this way, it just seemed right and much more powerful. Just knowing that people around the world took the time to help would mean so much to these people. I know it would if it were me in their shoes.
The project is 6/8 time 75 BPM on the grid at zero. Here is a link to the file

Simply right click and save it to your computer, then pull the file into a project. You can post your contributions on this thread via any file sharing you wish and I will download them and pull them into the mix as they come in. NOTHING will be culled. If you take the time to do this, your contribution will be mixed in somewhere on the song.
Keep in mind this song will play along at the memorial service with a video of Daniel's life. That should gives us all a feel for the mood and swing.
I need:
Bass
Acoustic (Martin John Butler I'd love to hear that cannon on this one)
Pads & Strings (littlesicily you are our resident omnishere expert)
Electric (Hundreds of guitar pickers on here)
Harmony Vocals (Johnkenn & RicFoxx come to mind among many others)
Gang Vocals
Percussion
Drums (Lots of drummers here)
Ect..
When the song is complete, it will be posted here for all contributors to download and hang on to as a memento of doing something that will bless the life of another.
Thanks you very much for helping on this. Lets all chime in on what we will add and as the files come in, I'll get to work!!!
Thanks!!!
