My signal chain was ny Blackstar 5 watt. direct out w pinch of its reverb >The WA ToneBeast x18 pre/ the Tone button disengaged/clean nickel transformer > Apollo > Logic, re-amped with Logic's "Pawnshop" amp, Marshall 4X12" cab, with Sennheiser 421, moved the mic around a little, ( I love that !), then rolled off the bottom a little with Apple's EQ, the 1176 Rev E, ratio on 12, attack and release around 5, then Apple's Delay Designer, with delay at 450, a multiple of the 75 BPM.
I also sent cowboy a Flat track with nothing on it, so he may have used that, and spiced to taste, but I think he used the part with my settings. That's a lot of stuff to run, just to get some guitar sounds, but it was worth it. I felt like little Daniel's spirit was with me when I was doing it.

I'd like to have a few pads with strings on the breakdown. I'm waiting on my friend Tommy D to send me a steel track. Should be some padding with that. The slow part in the middle could use a bit of color. Thanks btreimTommy Detamore?

Here's the tune fellas. Thanks to everyone who participated in this and for those who simply wrote a word of encouragement. I ran two masters. The first is with a clip on the front with Daniel's mom Cyndi singing this poem to Daniel. You can hear him in a couple of spots responding. The second is just the song. I'm also going to send the buss mix to John Scrip in Chicago for a master. The rest of the work files have been taken down so these are the final. Again, thanks. It will mean so much to this family. If you would, whoever participated, please leave a comment below about what you did and who you are. Cyndi asked if she could get a list of contributors. I remember some but not all. db.tt/FeHRtd9kdb.tt/AD1MKSQp

I hope we bring a little joy to Cyndi and Daniel, and their family. Thank you Herbie, for asking me to be a part of such a thoughtful, beautiful expression of care and sympathy, and hope. Thanks to all the great players here for sharing their wonderful talents too. It was a pleasure and privilege to be involved with so many masterful musicians.
I played the acoustic guitar strumming the chords, (mostly right side), the acoustic guitar picking the notes, (left side), and the first half of the electric guitar solo.

Gotta say boys, I'm not too much of an overly emotional person. But listening to this song this morning and knowing what it will mean to these precious people really did me in. I'm so honored to have been able to work on this with you guys. Helping others makes all the difference in this world. I've always believed that but it's good to be reminded of it often.

I am honored to be part of an online community that so freely gives what it can to support others in time of need. Martin, you are spot-on: this work has been - and remains forever - a thoughtful, beautiful expression of care and sympathy. And hope.
Well said.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Daniel and his family.

Sorry to hear about the passing of this young boy, I hope all of you realize how much joy you brought him and his family. I am sure they will enjoy your work and the memories of this brave young sole. During my year of hospitalization and rehab I repeatedly heard " your a hero" My reply was " No you don't get it everyday I see some improvement, I'm getting better. It's these kids, even if we don't tell them they know they are dying, yet they manage to smile and find joy, those are my hero's "
Thanks guys for what you did It may not seam like a big deal but to this family I know it ment the world.
