I played around with mine a bit more tonight. This compressor is a great value. I ran a vocal into it, the out to the DW and I'm really happy with it. I'll try to get a sample posted tomorrow night. wiz, I'll check out the meter on mine tomorrow and report back.

I posted the remix that I was working on in this thread. This isn't an isolated vocal, but you can hear the vocal with the WA76 feeding a Retro Doublewide on it. I can post an isolated vocal or whatever tonight (hopefully anyway).

Hey wiz, we've got a big storm rolling through, so I'm leaving the system down for the night. I'll report back this weekend anyway. Sorry for the delay.

Changing ratios moves the needle, but the reseats in the same spot here, or at least close enough. Changing the release 100% moves the needle though. Faster moves the needle left and slower moves it right. I also noticed that the indents in the middle of attack and release are halfway between the top middle dot and the first one to the left. None of these should really have any effect on my use of the unit, but is notable and a bit quirky.

Don't know if it's true, I was told the original urei units do the same thing.

Holy Crap! I just got one hooked up and redid a voice over due to content change. On the previous track, I had the CLA Blue Stripe in use. there is absolutely no comparison. The WA76 is warm and open and not pinched and thin like the CLA. What a great purchase - no question of possibly better... it just is.
It is a cool addition to my FET III as they are quite different. I have a CL7802 en route and can't wait to try a hardware Opto->FET vocal treatment. Should be fun

Thanks joey. Can't wait to give it a try, but I had to clean my audio desk today before I could stand to put anything new in the rack. My keyboard was nasty sticky. I'll keep it covered like I used to from now on.
Anyone here compared it to UAD's 1176 yet?

I think it's better. In fact, I think all hardware is better. Not that you can't achieve fantastic results in the box, but there's just a smoothness and difference in the attack.

Ya, this is the first time I have had a direct comparison and have to say, your description JK makes a lot of sense.

voltage based signal path, and or summing, it's the real deal.

Bryce from Warm recommended I run it in overnight. So, I won't pop it in the rack til tomorrow, but I will get it ready for action. I'm planning on doing a video like the one I did for the WA12, so I'll have finally have to start a new song.

Funny, they have to be calibrated which I find very cool, don't know why.;-) Looking forward to your impressions.

The WA's have the hole right below the vu so it's real handy.
