Looks awesome...
From Warm Audio...
-Price is $599 US, 649 Euro inc VAT in Europe and 549GBP inc VAT in the UK.
-CineMag transformers in and out.
-Same Reichenbach engineering output transformer design as original UREI version (CineMag now owns Reichenbach).
-Rev D
-High quality discrete signal path, even going the extra mile with some parts, including tantalum capacitors etc...
-YES, it can do the "all in limiting"
-Power supply is internal (like all WA products) power transformer external (as usual) it will not be a "wall wart" style but "line lump" so it doesn't block space at the AC outlet like the WA12 power transformer does.
-It is extremely musical, but still very transparent, the transformers hold up nicely when pushed. I've run some intense compression and it doesn't sound "squashed" or "gross" even with drastic 20-25db's of compression.

No excitement? An 1176 for the price of a Hairball, but already built and calibrated. Seems pretty awesome to me.

Bryce has outdone himself on this one vis-à-vis quality at an affordable price point! I'll have one soon, and compare it to my Rev F modded 1176s and Mohog, but I know it's a slightly different beast being an authentic recreation of the Rev D. If I like it enough, I'm definitely adding another or 3!!

If I was a hardware guy I'd buy four at that price.

Warm audio needs to get into the DIY market . If they released their products as kits , costing $200-$300 , they would dominate .

True, but it's pretty freakin' awesome that they are releasing completely made tested and calibrated units for DIY KIT PRICES! I can't wait for their 1073/EQ, 1084/EQ, LA2a, La3a and Pultec clones to all come out too. Not that Bryce has stated that... but it seems an obvious evolution of their product line.

playing the devils advocate, i'd like to hear them or read some reviews before i get too excited, it does say it is and kinda not a clone? 1176 in this promo.. Is it closer to "RevA or D stays with me", or a "Rev F or G throw into the sea"? looking forward to a comparison review 8)

From Warm Audio (Bryce) on the other site... "it is not a tweaked design but true to the REV D." I've invited him over, so we'll see if he pops in to check us out and toss some more info at us. tonycamphd, how much is it, all in, for one of the stereo hairball/collective units that you're building? Probably around $950? Is that right?

The prices are insanely good and even though I'm spoiled now with how cheap DIY is , I've still been checking out Warm Audio because the prices are so low . The way I look at it , most manufactures triple the cost of the parts to get their final price . If Warm is releasing their gear already so cheap , if they went DIY too , it would be CRAZY cheap . An 1176 at $200-$250 a kit That would sell a TON !! Whats a real one go for $ 2,000 on Sweetwater ? You could get 8 DIY Warm 1176's instead .

It is built on the schematic for a revision D, faithfully. i haven't read anything to the contrary. And saying it's "Rev F or G throw into the sea"?? That sounds like a negative aspersion from someone who has not even had a chance to listen to it or review it yet.

He also said that he was playing devil's advocate.

As far as the "RevA and D stay with me, Rev F and G into sea" comment, that is a common old saying from engineers who prefer the A/D over the F/G units. I threw it in as a joke on top of what was a question "what revision is it based on?" It was NOT meant as a negative aspersion, and doesn't read that way to me..

looks cool as heck, love to hear it, the wall wart psu worries me though?? Its a line wart, transformer only, the rest of the power supply is in the box. I love the Tonebeast so I'm hoping this will be just as brilliant.

I'm looking for a Urei 1176 Rev D, but these seem very hard to find ATM and only with highly inflated prices. So the WA76 looks appealing. I wonder if it is really close to a vintage Rev D? But I don't like that cheesy logo. Orange? Come on! And the steaming W always reminds me of someone taking a dump...

I'm curious to know how those here who have an 1176 use theirs. I've become accustomed to judiciously printing UAD's LA2 plug in when tracking vocals and some compressor plugs like 1176 or Fatso on some guitar tracks, but would like some tips on how to best use the hardware. Currently, I use UAD's Apollo as my interface and Warm Audio's ToneBeast mic pre. I'd like to add some outboard, but want it to integrate easily into my DAW productions.
