Forgot to say I only use the Focusrite or the DBX, the others rarely.

Forgot to say I only use the Focusrite or the DBX, the others rarely. I mostly use their proprietary "Platinum" and the DBX. Interestingly, I almost never use the Focusrite.

I've shied away from the Focusrite lately. The Platinum is excellent. I used the A.O M. mastering compressor when Slate's FG-X was unavailable in 64 bits for two years. It sounded better than the FG-X anyway. I let the A.O.M license run out because I had other limiters if I needed one, including all the Waves plugs and a few others.
Logic's Platinum sounds just like the A.O.M, except without the bass boost, so it's actually better than the A.O.M. That said, I also found the Platinum a little dull. I'm really looking forward to trying the Klaghelm on some new tracks soon. If it gets me a vocal tone I like, it'll be worth five times the price its selling for.
I'm having my mic upgraded, so I won't have it for another week. I'll have to be patient.

Just wanted to give this thing a shout-out again. I was trying everything on a drum bus with the last song I did. Tried the new Chandler Zener which sounded pretty cool, the Slate Monster 1176 thing, 1176s, etc. Just could get the right bloom and character...until I pulled up the MJUC again. Man, that middle comp - the Altec looking one - is just killer with all the buttons on and 8:1 ratio...slow attack fast release...then a freaking MIX knob! (How nice is a mix knob...) I could get the bloom on the snare JUST right and dial in the gain reduction and release to get it snappier. This thing might actually be my favorite software compressor.

I was surprised many times on lead vocal and base guitar - but it wasn't the Altec stile one... anyway If you don't buy the MJUC you missed something.
24$ is just WOW...

Only have the Jr version, but fantastic on bass, acoustic, vox. With how much i like it I really should spring for the full version.

Although hardware almost always wins for me, the MJUC is an outstanding software comp.
